Isai Arenas shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Isai, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts early, either in the showroom or at school. I spend most of the day sewing, refining patterns, experimenting with fabrics, or building new pieces for my brand. I like staying hands on with everything, so whether I’m finishing a garment or adjusting a detail, I’m fully locked in. Most nights end the same way they start, creating. It’s the one constant in my life right now and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Isai Arenas and I’m the founder and designer of Sanera, a Houston based luxury brand built on craftsmanship and precision. Every piece is made in house, cut and sewn by hand. I use absolutely no logos in my garments, only structure, pleats, and details to tell the story. Sanera represents authenticity, discipline, and creative integrity. It’s about staying true to the process, perfecting the craft, and creating with intention. I’m currently building a new collection that blends smart casual and elegance. My focus is to prove that real craftsmanship still matters and to inspire a new generation to build something timeless from the ground up.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment I started living my creative lifestyle full time changed everything for me. It made me realize I can create my own world through what I do and inspire others to do the same. That shift in mindset is what shaped the way I see life and why I keep creating every day.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never. It’s been difficult and I learned a lot through it, but failure was never an option.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
People always say it’s impossible to make a real name for yourself in the fashion industry from Houston. I can’t prove that I can yet, but I believe it with everything in me. That belief keeps me going every day. I know it’ll take time, but I’m certain that what I’m creating will speak for itself one day.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People might misunderstand my legacy and think I avoided using logos to be different or minimal. The truth is, I just believe real design doesn’t need a logo to be recognized. The craftsmanship, structure, and details should speak for themselves. I want people to remember Sanera for its depth and intention.
