DePaul Norwood shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi DePaul , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Starting my new Social Media Program Visionaire Millionaire ✨ I’m watching all of these entrepreneurs I’m teaching take off and build their social media presence! It warms my heart I love all my Visionaire Millionaires 🤎
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
DePaul Norwood, a Houston, Texas native, is the owner of Nordeshir Productions, a full-service production company known for capturing behind-the-scenes content for A-list celebrities and producing the hit YouTube web series The Real Gaywives of Houston.
In addition to his production work, DePaul is the founder of DePaul Beauty, a renowned makeup artistry brand, and the creator of Visionaire Millionaire, a social media coaching program designed to help aspiring creators and entrepreneurs expand their online presence and build sustainable success.
After the passing of his mother in 2018, DePaul faced homelessness and was forced to rebuild his life from the ground up. Today, he takes immense pride in the businesses he has built and the way his creativity and resilience have shaped a thriving career that supports his lifestyle and inspires others to do the same.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
At just 13 years old, I vividly remember growing up with my mother, a single parent who taught me the true meaning of love and abundance. Though we didn’t have much materially, our home was rich with love, creativity, and resilience. Because of that, I never felt we were lacking—my mother gave so much of herself that it felt like we had everything.
Around that age, I found myself captivated by music videos and fashion shows, and it was then that I discovered who I wanted to become. That moment awakened something powerful within me—the belief that art could transform, inspire, and empower. From that day forward, I never looked back. The power of art made me believe I could become whoever I wanted to be, and even today, I remain deeply inspired by its ability to shape identity and purpose.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In 2022, I lost everything—including myself. I was coming out of an unhealthy relationship, still grieving the loss of my mother, and on the verge of giving up. It was one of the darkest seasons of my life. But in the midst of that pain, I remembered the promises I made to my mother and decided to fight for myself again.
One day, I picked up my phone, started recording my voice, and began creating voiceovers. What began as an act of healing quickly turned into something bigger—those voiceovers started going viral and helping others heal, too.
2022 tested me in every way imaginable, but it also transformed me. I emerged stronger, more self-aware, and more powerful than ever before. That dark chapter redefined who I am and what I stand for—and for that, I’m deeply grateful.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The Real Gaywives of Houston is a project that holds a special place in my heart, and I’m fully committed to bringing it to life—no matter how long it takes. After a seven-year hiatus, the show is making its return. The break was necessary; during that time, I experienced profound personal loss, including the passing of my mother and several cast members. I also faced my own creative challenges, including writer’s block and uncertainty about how to tell our story in the most authentic way.
Now, after years of reflection and growth, I’m back behind the camera. The show has been completely rewritten, and we’re introducing an exciting new cast—alongside some familiar faces who helped shape the legacy of The Real Gaywives of Houston. This comeback season will be a celebration of resilience, creativity, and community.
I’m proud to say this will be our final season—our grand curtain call, and we’re going to honor it the right way for all the fans and supporters who have been with us from the very beginning.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
Late nights in my new place …music playing ..90’s r&b oldies… I’m creating and vibing! There is so much peace being by yourself! Thinking reflecting and recharging!
