We recently had the chance to connect with Stephanie Haden and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I think outside of work, taking time to read a good book has been a time where I find myself happy and at peace.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have been an art educator for over 10 years. I teach art full time at a school as well as run my mobile paint party business in the Houston area. My business has been around for quite some time and we especially enjoy working with ongoing partners who continue to count on our mobile paint party services for their schools, churches, and more. Our goal is to bring a fun and creative experience to our events!
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I was very shy. However, since being an entrepreneur I have had to force myself to get out of my shell and not be afraid to venture out and talk to clients and partners. Honestly, being an entrepreneur brings the extrovert out of you!
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Unless you have been through a moment of suffering it’s really hard to understand this concept. However the last two years have been a season for me. Yet it made me stronger and also made my prayer life stronger. I became closer to God and I have seen the blessing he has shown me amongst everything that I have been up against. And I wouldn’t change that.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Many families push children to stay away from any type of art career. But I beg to differ. If your child is artistically gifted, let them follow their dreams to do what they love especially in the art world. You can be successful in art. As parents encourage your child to be creative, that it’s okay to make art mistakes, and that love conquers all.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I have my quiet time with God through Bible reading and prayer. Starting my day off having quiet time with the Lord allows me to feel at peace for the rest of the day. My favorite Bible chapter is Psalm 91.
