An Inspired Chat with Gabriel Prusmack of Galveston island

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Gabriel Prusmack. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Gabriel, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Make coffee and sit with my toddler who is up before most. Some morning an early 20-50 mile bike ride or a dawn patrol surf session if it’s offshore and firing! maybe a plate for of eggs blueberries and a waffle with peanut butter on it, and then and other cup of coffee

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
The paint on my clothes signifies the life I live, colorful, messy, random, organized, fast paced, and just fun! I paint artwork for a living and utilize the kid like freedom to do so. I love speed outside of painting, such as surfing, cycling, running, working out. I can never do a thing without the love of Christ my savior to get the glory for it all! I have an amazing little family that I’m grateful for!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
So I used to have a full time job as a “shoe shine kid” I was basically the janitor at a church I attended for 15 years, I learned a lot about disciplines of character and having integrity in anything g you put your hands to. This helps with the full throttle life of a full time artist doing business and creating good habits etc

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me to dig deeper into everything I love! Run faster! Paint with crazy passion! Go deeper! Get to the detail of everything! Scrape the barrel! You will be alone with most of this but man what a ride it will be to find more out of life with what you have. God has never left me in all of this, He showed me how to Be Free

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Completely! Transparency is what being free is all about! Have fun! Be tired, be real! Be encouraging! Buy someone a coffee, give your entire being to life!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
Haha when I am handed a paint brush to only brush an entire wall with traditional artwork, I am doing this actually this week so I have my teeth sunk into dangerous water and I am intimidated to the max, but it has opened my eyes more and I love the pain of the frustration
