My interest and career in both music and photography began side by side. I always wanted to document travel, events, and things I found beautiful in my day-to-day life. Playing flute – which is what I ended up studying in college and grad school – and photography both helped me express myself and share creativity with others. While in college, I found photography could be a lucrative side business for musicians, as many need headshots, recital promotion photos, and graduation photos!  Read More>>

After my grandmother’s passing in May 2020, I had a profound realization about the importance of living life authentically and leaving a meaningful legacy for my children. I wanted to instill in them the belief that their worth isn’t tied to material possessions or outward appearance.  Read More>>

I started my theater blog in high school as I fell more in love with the performing arts. However, it wasn’t until 2022 when I decided to start a podcast. I would listen to crime podcasts and slowly ventured my way back into theater with a few theater podcasts. Read More>>

My journey as an artist was planted as a young child. My father used to give me tracing pads to teach myself how to draw, and my mother would get me these fashion design books with stencils to design purses, shoes, and clothes. At the time, I didn’t think too much of it as me being an artist. Read More>>

Since college, I’ve found immense satisfaction in crafting resumes and providing career guidance, unaware of the potential career path it could lead to. In 2008, I held a pivotal role as the GM/Clinic Administrator at a nationwide spa franchisee, where I spearheaded various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and training. Witnessing the exponential growth of the business, from zero to over 80 staff members, fueled by my recruitment efforts, was incredibly fulfilling. Read More>>

I grew up in the island of Puerto Rico and did my B.F.A. at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas in San Juan. In 2o04, I moved to the U.S. and completed my M.F.A. at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I lived with my wife, Blanca, in Florida in 2008. In 2011, we moved to Savannah, Georgia, where she completed her M.ARCH at SCAD as well.  Read More>>

I started this project in 2008 to learn more about my grandfather’s service during WWII. Like many of their generation, they did not discuss their time in the service. When they passed, their stories were lost forever. I began speaking to veterans at my local American Legion. Eventually, I began interviewing these veterans, and today, I have interviewed over 150 World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam War veterans. Read More>>

I have always been passionate about education way back in Africa, specifically Nigeria. I started tutoring students at age 16 before going into the college/ university. I have always taken pride in my home and how it looks, and wanting to personalize it with my style. Several years ago, when shiplap started becoming popular, I remember wanting to put it up on two walls in our home and working to find contractors for pricing quotes for the job. After receiving the quotes, I realized that paying someone to do the job wasn’t going to be in our budget, so my husband, Jake, and I decided to take on the task of doing it ourselves. I started out drawing novelty greeting cards and selling them at small art markets in San Marcos, TX, where I was getting my MFA in creative writing (fiction) at Texas State University. They were bare-boned, flimsy things — I used generic card stock from my job, scribbled words and crude sketches in black pen ink, and photocopied my drawings using the office printers — but they were so fun to make and share with my friends. I grew up in Mexico, and when I was in high school, I had to do a theater play for a grade and played the lead character in “The Bear”, a Russian play by Anton Chekhov. I supposed I did well, because my teacher was really happy with my performance, and he invited me to join the drama club. But I wasn’t interested, I wanted to be the Mexican Kurt Cobain (Haha!). I was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. Growing up, I was the kid who participated in many extracurricular activities – competitive dance, choir, and cheerleading. I enjoyed performing on stages and public speaking. In each activity, I strived to be the best I could be, and that followed me into adulthood. Read More>>

Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve always had an eye for fashion, hair, and makeup. The first ever GRWM I would passionately watch would have had to be my mother’s. I loved seeing her glam up for parties and events, so much so that it inspired me to get into all her drawers and play dress up on my little sisters. My father always had an entrepreneurial spirit by consistently thinking outside of the box and staying ambitious.  Read More>>
