Hi Mandy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We’re a family-owned business that opened in 2021 after spending years doing the work for everyone else. At some point, we realized it was time to take everything we’d learned and build something of our own. It started small — me in the office keeping things organized, Dan out meeting customers and handling sales, and our brother leading the installs. One job led to another, and before we knew it, our little idea had grown into something we’re truly proud of.
What’s made it special is the people. Every project has its own story, and we’ve built so many friendships along the way. We take pride in doing things right, treating every yard like it’s our own, and standing behind our work. It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding to watch our family’s dream come to life, one project at a time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most small businesses, it definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. When we started Innovative Turf Design, we were learning how to juggle everything — managing installs, keeping up with supplies, handling weather delays, and building a solid reputation all at once. There were long days, unexpected setbacks, and plenty of trial and error along the way.
Being a family-run business meant every decision mattered — and every win, big or small, felt personal. But those early challenges pushed us to get better, stay adaptable, and keep our standards high. Looking back, each obstacle helped shape the business we are today — stronger, more experienced, and deeply grateful for the trust our customers have in us.
