Today we’d like to introduce you to Linsey Bibler.
Hi Linsey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ten years ago, something extraordinary happened. In the middle of the night, at different times, my husband, Ryan, and I both woke up with an overwhelming, unmistakable mission on our hearts. The message was so clear and so specific that we each wrote it down separately. I still have those handwritten notes. It had never happened before, and it hasn’t happened since.
The next evening, when we shared what had happened, we were stunned. God had given us the same calling: Bring community together through service, shine His light and raise others up. It was essentially a blueprint for a life we weren’t yet living, but one we would grow into.
At the time, we were two young parents with demanding corporate careers, barely figuring out how to care for our own little family, let alone serve a whole community. But we wanted to start somewhere. Living in Ohio, we saw so many families struggling through the cold winters, so we organized our first coat drive. What began as a small idea quickly grew into neighbors and friends collecting hundreds of coats each year. From there we hosted community food drives, brought groups to volunteer at the local pantry, raised funds for our school, and eventually joined friends in helping build an orphanage overseas. Through that experience, we learned something powerful. One person can make a difference, but a small group with a shared purpose can change the world!
Three years ago, we were called to The Woodlands, Texas and the generosity of this community immediately blew us away. People didn’t just welcome us, they showed us how this town takes care of one another and invited us into that mission.
I joined National Charity League with my daughter, and everything shifted. Serving side-by-side with her opened my eyes to how many incredible nonprofits pour love into this community and how deeply they rely on volunteers. If people didn’t show up, many simply couldn’t exist. I watched my daughter come alive with purpose while serving, and I realized something NCL teaches so well: helping others changes us. We were created to love our neighbor.
Wanting to make service part of our family’s life mission, Ryan and I started Let Light Shine Foundation to encourage compassion in action. Today I’m grateful to serve on the National Charity League Board of Directors, at The Woodlands Christian Academy as a Family Representative and Vice Gala Chair, as Co-Chair for the Montgomery County Kids Meals Golf Tournament, and as Chair for Interfaith of The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Hometown Hero Gala.
In each of these places, I am surrounded by people who selflessly give their time and intentionally lead their families to do the same.
When a need arises, we rally the troops- our school, our sports teams, our friends. Alone, our family could never have the impact we’ve witnessed. But community working together…that changes everything.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life gets in the way and things don’t happen overnight. If we stick to our mission of shining Gods light and raising others up it helps us remember what truly matters. Don’t underestimate yourself. Gods plan is always so much better than our own.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Let Light Shine Foundation brings families and groups together to make a meaningful difference in our community. Our mission is to inspire purpose in the next generation through hands-on service. We partner with local nonprofits to help further their mission and expand their impact, creating meaningful opportunities for families to serve together.
We believe that when children learn to lead with love, compassion, and hope, their actions become contagious. A ripple effect is created that strengthens families, builds community, and lights the way for others.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Your dream is yours, guard it. Don’t let others discourage you. If you wait until you’re perfect, you’ll never be ready. God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called.
