Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Riddle.
Hi Tina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Husband-and-wife team David and Tina Riddle of Tomball, Texas, began their journey with The Breeder’s Assistant, an equine breeding school dedicated to teaching students from around the world how to successfully manage their own breeding programs. Their comprehensive curriculum included training in equine ultrasound, deep horn insemination, embryo transfer, stallion semen collection, as well as semen shipping and freezing.
As they worked closely with their students, the Riddles recognized that not all mares were conceiving and saw that the emerging technology of ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) was rapidly becoming an essential tool in modern breeding. Believing integrity would be key in this advancing field, they established a laboratory in 2023 to support their students’ continued success.
Today, Equine IVF proudly serves hundreds of horses and their owners, producing high-quality embryos under the guidance of one of the world’s leading embryologists, Marc Maserati, who serves as the laboratory’s expert director.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has not been without its challenges. Establishing an ICSI laboratory requires a significant investment, and David and Tina made the bold decision to reinvest all of the proceeds from their successful academy into launching their new venture. One of their greatest challenges was finding the right team—embryologists who shared their values of integrity, faith, and an exceptional work ethic.
That search led them to Gayle Williamson, a talented and compassionate Senior Embryologist, and Taylor Ward, a highly organized and energetic Junior Embryologist. Together, this dedicated team has made the Riddles’ risk well worth it.
As the sole owners of Equine IVF, David and Tina carry the full responsibility—and the freedom—of their business decisions. Without outside investors, they are able to prioritize excellence, ethical practices, and the well-being of their team above all else.
