We’re looking forward to introducing you to Daniela Tovar. Check out our conversation below.
Daniela, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me always starts with intention. Once I get to the spa, I make sure every little detail is ready — the lights are warm, the space feels cozy, and everything is set for my clients to feel cared for. When I’m home, I love slowing down with things that bring me joy — reading, working on a craft, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea. I’m very big on mental health and wellness, so I always carve out time for practices that keep me grounded, like journaling, reading my Bible, or writing down my thoughts. My days might not be fast-paced, but they’re filled with purpose, peace, and little rituals that make me feel whole..
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I started my business when I was 23 with one goal in mind — to create a space where women feel seen, cared for, and confident in their own skin. Helping women step into the best version of themselves has always been my personal ministry, so opening a spa felt like the perfect way to blend my love for beauty with my heart for service.
I’m also a skincare formulator and the founder of my own skincare brand, Be Still, which focuses on gentle, effective, barrier-repairing products for sensitive skin.
Today, that passion has grown into Energe Spa, a cozy, house-style space that feels more like visiting a friend than a traditional spa. We specialize in results-driven treatments with a warm, personal touch, and I’m constantly working on ways to elevate both the experience and the results for our clients. For me, it’s not just about facials or products — it’s about creating a safe, uplifting place where women can rest, recharge, and leave feeling better than when they came in.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has shaped me the most is without a doubt my parents. They’ve been together for over 30 years, and their love and unwavering support have been my foundation. From the very beginning, they’ve believed in me — even in moments when I didn’t fully believe in myself.
I admire them not only as parents, but as people. They immigrated from Colombia to the U.S. as professionals, leaving behind the familiar to build a new life from the ground up. They worked tirelessly, with a level of determination and integrity that has inspired me every single day. Their work ethic is unmatched, their wisdom runs deep, and they’ve shown me what it truly means to persevere with grace.
Everything I am today — as a business owner, a woman, and a human being — has been shaped by the example they set and the sacrifices they made. They are the hardest-working and smartest people I know, and I’m endlessly proud to be their daughter.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most has been tied to my anxiety. It’s something I’ve struggled with for a long time — the kind that can feel crippling, from the physical symptoms to the overwhelming thoughts. At its core, it’s often been the fear of not being good enough.
There have been seasons where that fear felt louder than my confidence, but over the years, I’ve learned how to quiet it. Building my faith and trust in God has been a huge part of that. He’s shown me that my worth isn’t defined by my doubts or limitations. Through prayer, self-work, and time, I’ve become stronger and more grounded. While I still have moments where anxiety creeps in, it no longer has the power to stop me from moving forward.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One of my biggest long-term projects was creating my own skincare line. I even went to school for formulation so I could do it the right way, with the knowledge and expertise to back it up. It took a few years from concept to launch, but I was committed to creating something natural yet effective — a product line I could truly stand behind and love.
Even though my brand has now been released, I’m still deeply committed to growing it and expanding its reach. This wasn’t just a business project for me; it was a labor of love that I poured my whole heart and soul into, and it’s something I’ll keep nurturing no matter how long it takes.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I made them feel seen, cared for, and loved — that I created spaces where they could breathe, be themselves, and feel a little lighter when they left. I want my story to be one of faith, kindness, and resilience… that I chased my dreams with purpose, treated people with compassion, and used my gifts to pour into others. More than anything, I hope they remember that I lived with intention, loved deeply, and always tried to leave people better than I found them.
