Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Ward.
Rebecca, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love for photography started at a formative age. My mom gave me a camera for Christmas when I was 10. I was always the friend who had the nice camera or iPhone and would be the main person capturing our outings and vacations. After joining the CYFEN chapter of the American Business Women’s Association in 2014 I started to think more about my skills and talents.
I was deeply inspired by these women who were business professionals, moms, wives, entrepreneurs, and volunteers. It was then that I knew I wanted to start living my passion and sharing my talents in a deeper way. I tried several types of photography, I discovered I was most talented at professional headshots. It’s been an incredible creative outlet for me and very rewarding helping others capture their best images to show to the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest challenge for me was finding my niche. I wanted to ensure that I was having fun with each client and was confident that I could capture the branding images they envisioned. My vision for my business really came together when I was asked about what types of photography I enjoyed. After some thought, my answer was simple. I wanted to take pictures of people who wanted their photos taken. That’s what I was really passionate about.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the ReWarding Images story. Tell us more about the business.
ReWarding Images specializes in photography for business professionals. We are known for capturing you in your business, for your business! Most business professionals take the time to dress in a nice suit, yet have a plain headshot against a boring background. ReWarding Images values giving our clients a different photography experience that really captures the essence of who they are and what they do. We pride ourselves on traveling to your business or finding a location that allows you to genuinely present yourself to your clients in a way to best connect with them.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe that luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I was grateful to have the opportunity to find the ladies in CYFEN who automatically desired to support me and my business in any way possible. After discovering how supportive they were, I was prepared to create a business that we could all be proud of.
