Hi Komal, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my business over seven years ago in Sugar Land, Texas, but the roots of my journey began long before that. Growing up, I struggled with severe clinical acne that deeply affected my self-confidence. It made me shy away from social interactions, birthdays, and celebrations, moments that should have become cherished memories. That was when I realized something needed to change. Not just for my skin, but for my ability to show up in the world and be present with the people I loved.
This experience sparked a deep curiosity and passion for understanding skincare on a much deeper level, not just how to heal the skin but how to heal oneself through the process. That personal journey eventually led me to aesthetics, a field that felt like home the moment I discovered it.
I had originally begun my path in nursing, but I realized that my heart was being pulled in a different direction. While I have always been drawn to caring for others, helping people heal through skin felt intuitive and natural, something I was meant to do.
When I opened Aesthetics by Komal, my goal was to create a space where results meet energy, where science, skin, and soul come together. As a healer and empath, I have always believed that skin is more than surface deep; it reflects how we nurture ourselves from within.
Through years of education, advanced training, and word-of-mouth growth, my practice has become a trusted space for transformative skincare. What sets my work apart is my holistic approach, blending modern aesthetic science with intuitive healing. Watching my clients’ confidence bloom has been the most rewarding part of my journey and continues to inspire me to evolve and expand my craft every day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. As a solo esthetician and business owner, I’ve had to wear many hats: practitioner, marketer, content creator, administrator, and everything in between. Building a business in an industry as saturated and competitive as aesthetics requires resilience, grit, consistency, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work that most people never see. There were moments I faced burnout trying to manage everything on my own while still showing up fully for my clients and maintaining the level of care and excellence they deserve.
At the same time I was learning how to show up for my personal relationships, my family, friends, and loved ones, while juggling the demands of being a one-woman business. Finding that balance didn’t come easily, but it taught me so much about boundaries, grace, and prioritizing what truly matters.
There were also seasons of doubt, learning curves, and sacrifices. Times where I had to trust myself even when the path wasn’t clear, reinvest in my education when it wasn’t easy, and rebuild processes from the ground up. Growing a loyal clientele without shortcuts or trends took patience, intention, and staying rooted in my mission even when it would have been easier to follow what everyone else was doing.
But those challenges shaped me into the practitioner I am today. They taught me the importance of boundaries, self-care, and trusting the process. I always remind others to fill your cup first so you can pour into others, and that philosophy has become a guiding force in both my work and personal growth. It has allowed me to continue showing up for clients with the kind of intention, knowledge, and energy they deserve.

Because of my own personal skin journey, I have a special passion for supporting clients navigating stubborn or emotionally challenging concerns, whether it’s hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea, inflamed or textured skin, or simply wanting to elevate their natural glow. I guide them through their transformation with empathy, education, and highly personalized care.
What sets my practice apart is the energy and intention behind every treatment. I approach skincare as both a science and an art, blending clinical precision with intuitive healing to support the skin at every level. Over time, I’ve developed my own signature approach that weaves together advanced techniques with thoughtful elements of internal wellness when appropriate, creating results that are consistent, elevated, and long-lasting. I’m continuously expanding my education to stay aligned with the most effective and progressive approaches to skin health.
A lot of my clients jokingly call me a magician or say I have “magic hands,” and while I love the compliment, the real secret is years of repetition, continuous education, and a deep respect for skin science. The magic is simply mastery.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust and loyalty I’ve built over the years. Clients travel to me not only from all over Houston, but also from Beaumont, Austin, San Antonio, College Station, and even out of state. Brides and grooms work with me months and even a year before their big day, trusting me to guide their skin through one of the most important chapters of their lives.
I also have clients who have been with me since I was a fresh graduate, women and men I’ve walked alongside through marriages, pregnancies, relationships, heartbreaks, and major life transitions. My space has evolved into so much more than a skincare studio. It is a place where people feel safe to let go, be seen, and supported. My spa heals not just your skin, but also aims to nurture your spirit through genuine connection, compassion, and care.
People come to me because they know they will be cared for with honesty, intention, and a level of dedication that goes far beyond the treatment itself. Many clients tell me they leave feeling not only clearer and brighter, but more confident, grounded, and at home in their skin.
My goal has always been to create a space that feels elevated yet grounding, a place where every person feels seen, supported, and leaves with a glow that reflects both inner and outer harmony.

I want people to know that skincare is so much more than a beauty routine or vanity. It is a form of healing, confidence, and energy renewal. My hope is to continue creating a ripple effect of self-love, one client at a time, reminding everyone that when you nurture yourself, your entire world begins to glow. When you look good, you feel good, and you do better, and that is the energy I want every client to carry with them.

My vision is to continue expanding Aesthetics by Komal into a space where beauty, healing, and education meet, empowering others to not only care for their skin but to come home to themselves.
In a world that forgets softness far too easily, I want my space to be a reminder that gentleness is healing, necessary, and deeply human. Every treatment, every conversation, every moment in my studio is rooted in intention, created to remind people of their worth, their light, and their capacity to glow from the inside out.
My dream is to build a legacy of healing through the skin, a movement that teaches people to honor themselves, trust their journey, and never dim their glow. If my story inspires even one person to pour into themselves the way they truly deserve, then every step of this path has been worth it.
