Meet Angel Wynn of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Wynn.

Hi Angel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Honestly, my journey has been a mix of faith, creativity, and just saying “yes” to what God puts in front of me. I started out simply loving film—loving storytelling, loving the way a camera can capture a moment and turn it into something that touches people. Over the years, I worked my way through the industry as a videographer, photographer, editor, and eventually a director. I didn’t come from a straight path or a perfect plan. I just kept learning, kept showing up, and kept trusting that each project was preparing me for the next.

“Last Christmas” came from a very personal place. The holidays can be beautiful, but they can also be painful, especially when you’ve lost someone you love. After experiencing my own season of grief, I felt God tugging on me to create something that could bring comfort, hope, and light to people walking through that same heaviness. I wanted to make a film that says, “I see you. You’re not alone. And even in this pain, there’s still joy to be found.”

Along the way, doors opened—opportunities to produce, to write, to act, and eventually to build my own production company, Halo Pictures. None of it happened overnight. It was me being faithful, consistent, and willing to learn the hard lessons. And now, seeing this film premiere December 7th on YouTube, feels like a full-circle moment. It’s a reminder that purpose doesn’t always look glamorous at first, but it grows when you nurture it.

I’m still growing, still dreaming, and still creating work that I hope inspires people. If my story says anything, it’s that God really can take your pain, your passion, and your persistence—and turn it into something beautiful.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I think sometimes people see the finished product and assume everything just fell into place, but that’s far from the truth. There were moments where I questioned myself, moments where the funding wasn’t there, moments where the timing didn’t line up, and moments where life itself felt heavy.

One of the biggest challenges for me was creating “Last Christmas” while still navigating my own emotions. Trying to write, direct, and act in a story that mirrored some of my real emotions wasn’t easy. There were days I had to pause, breathe, pray, and remind myself why this story mattered. But I also felt like God was healing me as I created it.

Another challenge has simply been the journey of being an independent filmmaker. You wear every hat—producer, director, marketer, sometimes even therapist for the cast and crew. There were technical setbacks, budget delays, and times where I had to stretch what little I had to make something beautiful. But every obstacle pushed me to grow, to be more resourceful, and to trust my vision even when it felt overwhelming.

At the same time, I’m grateful for the challenges because they refined me. They taught me resilience. They showed me who was really in my corner. And honestly, those tough seasons made this film even more meaningful. It’s a reminder that purpose doesn’t come without pressure—but the pressure is what makes the story worth telling.

But here’s where YOU come in!
Halo Pictures is dreaming big—and with your help, Last Christmas can grow from a short film into a full feature. If you’ve been touched by the message, believe in the mission, or simply want to support independent filmmakers telling meaningful stories, your donation makes all the difference.

You can sow into the vision and support the project through our GoFundMe, helping us continue creating films that uplift, inspire, and meet people right where they are.

Mark your calendar: December 7, 2025.
Grab some cocoa, gather your loved ones, and tune in as Last Christmas premieres on the Wynn Network and YouTube.

A film for the grieving.
A film for the hopeful.
A film for anyone who needs a reminder that light always breaks through.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a filmmaker, director, editor, and visual storyteller at heart. I specialize in creating projects that make people feel something—whether that’s hope, comfort, laughter, or inspiration. I work across film, photography, and production, but my sweet spot is telling stories that carry purpose. I love blending creativity with faith, and making content that leaves people a little better than it found them.

I think I’m known for my heart. People always tell me they can feel the sincerity in my work. I’m not just shooting something to shoot it—I’m intentional about the message, the emotion, and the atmosphere. Whether it’s a short film, a documentary-style project, a podcast visual, or a family-owned restaurant series, I love bringing authenticity to the screen.

I’m most proud of the fact that I didn’t wait for permission. I built Halo Pictures from the ground up, and I’ve been creating opportunities for myself instead of waiting for someone else to open the door. “Last Christmas” is a perfect example of that. I’m proud that I was able to take my own experiences—both the pain and the joy—and turn them into a film that can truly help people.

What sets me apart is my ability to tell emotional stories with a sense of warmth and relatability. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable in my art. I’m also very hands-on—I edit, direct, write, and produce, so I understand every layer of the process. And because I lead with compassion, people feel safe on my sets. They feel seen. They feel heard. That energy translates into the final product.

At the end of the day, my work is about impact. I want people to watch something I’ve created and walk away feeling hope, healing, or just a little more love than before. That’s what truly sets me apart.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to trust God even when the path doesn’t make sense. There were so many moments where I felt unqualified, under-resourced, or unsure, but every time I kept moving forward, God met me there. I’ve learned that obedience is more important than having everything perfectly planned.

I’ve also learned that timing is everything. Just because something doesn’t happen right away doesn’t mean it’s not meant for you. Sometimes God is building you up, strengthening you, or aligning the right people before He opens the next door.

Another huge lesson for me has been the importance of protecting my peace and staying true to my vision. Not everyone will understand your dream, and not everyone is meant to go where you’re going—and that’s okay. I had to learn not to shrink, not to compare, and not to wait for validation.

But the most beautiful lesson has been realizing that pain can have purpose. The things that once hurt me ended up becoming part of the very story God wanted me to tell. And when you let Him use your story, He turns it into something that can heal others too.

That’s been the most powerful lesson of all.
