Today we’d like to introduce you to Dusty Haze.
Hi Dusty, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Basically how I tell people the story is before 4 years ago I struggle with drug addiction homelessness incarceration and then 4 years ago I was a hermit that hadn’t left my house in over a year and a childhood friend of mine came to my house told me he missed his friend and then he was kidnapping me that we were going to an open mic so he drugged me to a random hole in the wall just so happened that that hole in the wall that night had 20 years that’s in it they told me stick around told me I had something that I could sell that I could present to people and then it’s been 4 years of hard labor and never stopped
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s by no means been an easy road I’ve dealt with hardships on the outside such as financial adversity varying opinions forceful actions and differing agendas but I’ve also met quite a few adversities internally the constant need for the improv skill something as simple as having to admit when you’re wrong or you’re not the guy for the job it’s taking refinement of discipline patience drive and even educating myself on things I had no education on so no I’d say it’s not been an easy road by any means but it has been well worth it and completely doable
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I tell people like this I’m a writer turned performer meaning I have about 700 original songs written myself across about 15 genres I rap I sing at a country rock boom bap hip hop r&b funk so EDM drum and bass like you name a music genre and I’ve either got it or plan to try my hand at it if I haven’t already
What’s next?
It’s going to sound egoistic I assure you it’s not but I’m here to take over and I know that sounds laughable but I mean it I basically gave up on giving up which is a weird thing that happens when you backtracked and gave up so many times that you reach a point where it’s like you know what I’m seeing this one through I don’t know about you but I don’t much like it here people are mean it’s very loud it’s very bright and this world can be very cruel but I also believe we have the power to change things for the better but who takes the first step that’s the part I can’t get past if we all pass the plastic bottle on the sidewalk under the pretense of it’s okay someone will take care of it that’s somebody else’s job but what if no one ever got hired and so that bottle it just sits there and it sits there and it sits there when you could have just picked it up and took it to the nearest trash can took the initiative as the civilian within your own environment put forth that initiative to make the change and not just make the change but be the change instead of waiting for someone else to come around and save you I’m here to prove that it’s still possible to Hope I’m here to prove that money criteria status title race Creed color religion political belief none of it f****** matters not in comparison to what you could be accomplishing and if you feel so strongly about it why do you talk and not walk I’m here to prove that there’s still people around they believe in this s*** sorry these answers are so direct with this music stuff is a lot more about real life than it is for an image for me I’m hoping these things change lives or at least help someone change their own life you know
