Life & Work with Roshell Boudreaux of Spring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roshell Boudreaux.

Hi Roshell, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My faith has always been the compass of my life, a deep connection forged early on by my father, who taught me the power of prayer. But the path I walked was far from simple.
As a younger woman, I navigated seasons of immense brokenness: surviving domestic violence abuse and molestation, losing my identity through homosexual drug addiction, and even experiencing homelessness. While the world saw a life in crisis, God was at work, for it was in the midst of it all that my ministry was being birthed.
I eventually channeled my skills into a career doing women’s hair, believing I was simply becoming a stylist. However, the moment I stepped behind that salon chair, I realized my true purpose. God started bringing me clients who needed more than a style—they needed a lifeline, a prayer partner a voice of reasoning these were women wrestling with their own brokenness, escaping abusive relationships, and desperately searching for hope.
My own journey through the fire gave me an innate wellspring of compassion and empathy. The salon chair became a surprising sanctuary, a place where I listened, prayed, and ministered to their spirits.
Today, that purpose is my full-time mission. My past is no longer a source of shame; it is the powerful platform from which I now speak. I moved beyond the chair to become a full-time voice, guiding women toward emotional healing, secured identity, and purpose. I am living proof that God uses everything—even the deepest wounds—to prepare you for your crown to walk in purpose

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve faced adversity, seasons of weakness, and battles with alcohol and drugs. After losing my second brother, I used those things as an escape—anything to avoid connecting with the pain that felt too heavy to carry. But instead of healing me, it led to self-destruction. It created habits that numbed me and temporarily filled the emotional void I was afraid to confront.

I also had to fight my way out of toxic relationships that kept pulling me back into old, familiar places of false comfort. On top of that, I often felt uneducated, unequipped, and measured by the world’s standards. I struggled to validate myself, wrestling with insecurities and an inner voice that questioned my worth.
