Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitley Kelley.
Hi Whitley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“This is always a loaded question,” is usually how I begin—because my story isn’t just about sports or education. It’s about purpose, resilience, and how God redirected my life in ways I never could have planned.
I’ve been an athlete for as long as I can remember—competitive cheerleading, powerlifting, track… and one very short-lived tennis season that we don’t really mention. Let’s just say it was not my most graceful chapter. With constant training came injuries, and every provider I saw told me the same thing: “Just rest,” or “Maybe cut out a sport.” To someone driven and passionate, that felt like being told to stop breathing. I knew there had to be a better way to help people heal without taking away what they love.
While completing my degree in physical therapy, I completed an internship with an incredible chiropractor in San Marcos. He and his wife were deeply passionate, humble, and gave all glory to God. At the time, I was a bit of a lost soul, but that summer shifted everything for me. Watching the way they cared for their patients—addressing both the physical and emotional components of healing—lit a fire in me. I felt God nudging (or honestly, shoving) me toward chiropractic school, and I followed that calling.
I began my education at Texas Chiropractic College, which provided an exceptional, evidence-based foundation. However, during that time, I found myself in an abusive relationship. How I maintained my grades, continued learning, found a way out, and made it through that season is entirely God’s grace. Looking back, I can clearly see how He was protecting me and opening doors even when I couldn’t see the path forward.
A few months later, I met my future husband—one of the greatest blessings of my life. He believed in me before I fully believed in myself and has supported every step, idea, and leap of faith since. We now have two beautiful children who keep us laughing, exhausted, and overflowing with love. Becoming a mother gave me a deeper understanding of the stress and physical demands families face. Those little bodies need support, and so do mom and dad.
During my clinical rotations, I realized the profound impact chiropractic care can have. Watching patients come in hopeless and leave with tears of gratitude after regaining their quality of life confirmed that I was exactly where God wanted me. Helping people heal physically while also serving in a deeper, purpose-driven way—that was the calling.
After graduation, I worked for a company focused on myofascial treatment and helping patients improve within 2–4 visits. I loved the energy and patient-centered approach, but I noticed barriers. Many individuals couldn’t afford care without insurance, and some continued to struggle despite doing everything “right.” I wanted the freedom to treat the whole person—body, mind, nutrition, trauma, and inflammation.
So in February 2023, with the encouragement of my amazing husband and a friend who gave me the final push, I opened Kelley Sports & Wellness in Deer Park.
My mission is to create a safe, hopeful environment where patients feel seen, supported, and truly able to get their lives back. Most patients improve within 1–3 visits, but having my own clinic allows me to dig deeper into root causes such as inflammation, food sensitivities, blood sugar imbalances, or emotional trauma. I am currently pursuing advanced functional wellness and nutrition training to expand the level of care I can provide.
I also have a special heart for patients with histories of domestic violence and emotional abuse. Having walked through my own trauma, I wanted a place where individuals could feel safe with hands-on care—where we can work through stored tension and trauma in the body with compassion and adaptability.
Today, we receive referrals from physicians, orthopedists, psychologists, massage therapists, and coaches. I’ve treated patients ranging from eight hours old to ninety-eight years young—athletes, weekend warriors, and exhausted parents just trying to make it through the week.
We all carry stress, pain, and experiences in our bodies. We cannot neglect ourselves.
My goal is to welcome every person who walks through my doors, provide skilled and compassionate care, pray over them when they’re on the table, and follow God’s calling for my life. He placed me here to help, to heal, to love others well, and to serve this community.
And I’m simply following His lead—one patient at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not. I don’t think anyone who has pursued something meaningful would ever say their path was easy—and mine definitely wasn’t.
During chiropractic school, I was in an abusive relationship that nearly derailed everything. Trying to keep up with an intense program while navigating trauma, fear, and survival was overwhelming. Looking back, I truly don’t know how I maintained my grades, stayed focused, and made it out alive except by God’s grace. That season taught me resilience, boundaries, and that my worth was not determined by someone else’s brokenness.
Before having our two children, my husband and I walked through infertility and the loss of three babies. One of those losses happened while I was still in school—just one week before taking my board exams. Another happened while I was working, right in the middle of treating patients. I remember wiping my tears, pulling myself together, and continuing on because people were depending on me. Those moments were devastating and isolating, and they could have easily stopped me in my tracks. But they also deepened my compassion for others experiencing silent battles.
After finally being blessed with our daughters, the challenges didn’t stop. We had two babies back-to-back, and one became extremely sick at just three months old. She was sick for three weeks while I was working full-time. I used every hour of PTO I had, completely depleted it, and still tried to show up for my patients and my family. It was physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting.
On top of that, one of my children still struggles in ways that require extra time, attention, patience, and advocacy. Balancing motherhood, a growing business, patients who depend on me, and the emotional needs of my children is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. There are days I feel torn in three different directions, and the mom guilt and business-owner guilt like to battle it out.
But even in the chaos, I’ve learned that it’s not my strength carrying me. If it were, I would have burned out a long time ago. There have been so many things that could have kept me from making God known and glorifying Him in my work—trauma, loss, exhaustion, fear, insecurity. But the obstacles will not stop me from doing what He has called me to do.
It is HIS strength that sustains me. He continues to lead me into things outside of my comfort zone, and somehow provides exactly what I need right when I need it. The challenges I’ve walked through have shaped how I care for my patients—with empathy, patience, and the understanding that healing is rarely just physical.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been purposeful. Every struggle has prepared me for the work I’m doing now, and I wouldn’t trade the growth, grit, or gratitude that came from it.
Because if my pain can help someone else find healing, hope, and the love of God in their own story, then every battle was worth it.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Kelley Sports & Wellness is more than a chiropractic clinic—we’re a place where people rediscover hope, healing, and the ability to live life again. We specialize in getting patients better fast, with most seeing significant improvement within 1–3 visits, which sets us apart from traditional long-term treatment models.
Our approach focuses on the fascia—the connective tissue that influences pain, mobility, inflammation, and even how the body stores trauma. By combining myofascial work, deep tissue treatment, intentional movement, and nervous system support, we address the root cause instead of just treating symptoms.
We’re also home to the Revibe Reset Session, a one-hour hybrid treatment that blends deep tissue work and advanced myofascial release. It’s not a spa massage—it’s targeted, purposeful work that helps the body reset and heal.
While we don’t accept insurance, we work hard to keep our services reasonably affordable and accessible, because everyone deserves quality care without financial barriers. Our goal is to help people get better in fewer visits, making treatment both effective and cost-conscious.
What truly sets us apart is our heart. Kelley Sports & Wellness is a safe space, especially for individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, emotional abuse, or major life stressors. Having walked that road myself, I’m passionate about creating an environment where people feel seen, supported, and safe during hands-on care.
We treat all ages—from newborns just hours old to 98-year-olds who still want to garden or chase grandkids.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that our identity reflects faith, excellence, and compassion. My goal is not to keep people dependent on care, but to help them heal fully and return to the life God called them to live.
At Kelley Sports & Wellness, we don’t just treat pain—we help people revive, rebuild, and step back into their purpose.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see our industry moving toward root-cause focused care, faster results, and more accessible treatment options. People are tired of long, repetitive plans that don’t create lasting change—they want care that is effective, personalized, and efficient, and clinics like ours are leading that shift.
For Kelley Sports & Wellness, I’d love to expand—possibly opening a location near Palacios, another in Mont Belvieu, and even developing a mobile pop-up clinic to reach more communities.
Of course, I can plan all I want, but ultimately God’s plan wins. And if that includes multiple locations, a mobile unit, and me still trying to finish a cup of coffee while it’s hot—then I’ll call that success.
