Hidden Gems: Meet Nishat Jones of StratE8

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nishat Jones.

Nishat, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a home where love, structure, and hard work were part of everyday life. I was raised to believe that effort matters, that you finish what you start, and that you treat people with respect. Those values stayed with me long before I ever thought about a career.

As I got older, I learned a lot by simply saying yes to opportunities and figuring things out as I went. I was curious, willing to work hard, and not afraid to take risks. Over time, those experiences shaped how I think, how I lead, and how I relate to people. I learned that growth often comes from uncomfortable moments and that the most meaningful progress happens when you stay grounded and are honest in all encounters.

Today, I am where I am because of the people who supported me and the lessons I learnt through both success and failure. I work hard, I care deeply, and I make space for life outside of work. My story is less about a single moment and more about consistently showing up, staying true to my values, and growing along the way.
StratE8 was built from those lessons. Today, I partner with B2B leaders who want growth that is intentional and measurable, but are also grounded in customer centricity across the organization. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and human understanding, because that is where real, lasting growth happens.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been operating in environments where marketing is viewed as a cost center rather than a growth driver. When leadership does not have alignment on the role marketing plays in the business, it becomes difficult to connect strategy, execution, and results. Lack of alignment at the CEO and leadership level can slow decision making and create silos, all of which I experienced and overcame with small wins to gain buy in.

On a personal level, work-life balance became challenging as I climbed the corporate ladder. The higher the responsibility, the more hours were expected of my time. Learning how to lead while protecting personal time has been an important part of my growth and well being.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about StratE8?
StratE8 is a growth and marketing firm built for B2B organizations that need senior leadership without the overhead of a full time executive. I serve as a Fractional Chief Growth & Marketing Officer, partnering closely with CEOs, founders, and private equity teams to drive measurable growth. My work focuses on aligning strategy, marketing, sales, and operations so companies can scale with clarity and confidence.

What sets StratE8 apart is a disciplined, data-led approach grounded in customer centricity. I help organizations move beyond assumptions by using data to inform decisions while keeping the voice of the customer central to strategy. Growth is not treated as a campaign or a one time initiative, but as an operating discipline.

What I am most proud of is the growth I have built with organizations. StratE8 is known for being practical, honest, and embedded in the business. Readers should know that my work is not about marketing for marketing’s sake. It is about helping organizations grow in a way that is intentional, aligned, and sustainable, without losing sight of the customer or the people behind the numbers.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I do not believe in luck. What I believe in is hard work, discipline, and the environment you are in. I grew up in a loving family where hard work (straight A’s) was expected, accountability mattered, and showing up fully was non-negotiable. That foundation shaped how I approach both life and business.

Every opportunity I have had came from putting in the work and being willing to take responsibility when things did not go as planned. I believe strongly in working hard, but also in playing hard and keeping a work-life balance. That balance has allowed me to stay grounded, resilient, and consistent over time.

My success is not the result of good luck or avoiding bad luck. It is the result of preparation, persistence, and the values I carry with me every day.
