Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Bruner.
Hi Luke, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started when we had no bread! Our oldest brother works at H-E-B, and we were waiting for the 25% off holiday discount to buy our groceries. He surprised us and came home with a fresh homemade loaf of sourdough bread that he had received from a customer. This alone was an answer to prayer.
A little bit about our family: our Daddy has Multiple Sclerosis, which means his brain has a hard time telling his body what to do and how to move. What some might call a setback or stumbling block, we have realized that it is a blessing in disguise. Our momma was a stay-at-home mom, but when our father’s MS started to progress, she made the decision to go back to school to become a teacher; and after only three years of teaching, she won the Teacher of the Year award.
One day around COVID, our dad woke up and said that he couldn’t move his legs at all. This changed everything because he now needed around the clock care. After a divine experience with the Lord, our momma decided she was going to quit her job and come back home to take care of her husband. As for us bros, instead of moving out on our own, we decided that it is our responsibility to fill in where we are needed. We tried the 9-5 job, but we soon found out that we were missing out on the most important part of life, which is time with the people you love.
After we started making bread, we soon found out that sourdough bread is way healthier for you and that we weren’t half bad at baking. We were sitting on the couch one day and the Lord put the name “ThreeBrosLoaves” into our heads. After making a logo on our moms iPad and a free website, we launched our business at 11pm on July 5th, 2024! Everything after that happened faster than we could have ever imagined. We started this business in the beginning as a way to make money, but since then the priorities have changed. We know that the Lord is going to provide all that we will need right when we need it, so now it is all about doing the Lord’s will with His business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has definitely not been smoothing sailing! we’ve had many obstacles; from our starter not rising and us staying up incredibly late top fix our problem, all the way to us having to cancel a market the day of because of family medical emergencies. It all goes to show that everything that we have been through, has played a part in refining us into who we are.
