Today we’d like to introduce you to John Zamora.

Hi John, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my career in the pet industry in 2005 and discovered my passion for professional grooming a few years later. By 2009, I was fully dedicated to grooming and committed to developing my skills at the highest level. Over the years, I’ve continued to invest in my education and professionalism, earning national certification through the NDGAA and maintaining Pet CPR certification to ensure the safety and well-being of every pet in my care.

After spending many years working hands-on in the corporate industry & small Mom and Pop salons and building strong relationships with clients and their pets, I saw a growing need for a more personalized, low-stress grooming experience. That led my husband Robert Bartlett and I to start my own mobile grooming business, Love2Groom in October of 2025. Today, we are proud to offer one-on-one, cage-free grooming in a calm, convenient environment, allowing me to provide the level of care, attention, and consistency that both pets and their owners deserve.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road. Like most long-term careers, there have been challenges at every stage. Early on, gaining experience, building confidence, and continuously refining my technical skills required significant time, discipline, and perseverance. Grooming is physically demanding work, and learning how to sustain long-term quality while protecting my health was an important lesson.

Later, in 2024 facing cancer treatment became a pivotal turning point in my journey. That experience forced me to slow down, reassess my priorities, and think more intentionally about how I wanted to work and live. It ultimately encouraged me to go out on my own and build a business that allowed for greater control over my schedule, environment, and overall well-being. Transitioning into business ownership came with its own challenges—navigating regulations, building a client base, and managing the realities of a mobile operation—but those obstacles strengthened my resilience and clarified my purpose. The struggles along the way shaped not only how I run my business today, but also the level of care, empathy, and dedication I bring to every pet and client.

Love2Groom is a professional mobile pet grooming business built around quality, consistency, and individualized care. I provide one-on-one, cage-free grooming in a fully equipped mobile salon, allowing pets to be groomed in a calm, controlled environment without the stress of a traditional shop. My focus is on creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners, while delivering reliable, high-level grooming results.

I specialize in safe, humane grooming for dogs of all sizes, including seniors, puppies, and pets that may be anxious or sensitive. With nearly two decades in the pet industry and national certification through the NDGAA, I’m known for attention to detail, breed-appropriate styling, and a strong emphasis on pet safety and comfort. Every appointment is handled personally by me, ensuring consistency and trust—there are no handoffs or rotating groomers.

What truly sets Love2Groom apart is the intentional, relationship-driven approach. After years in salon environments and a personal health journey that reshaped my priorities, I built Love2Groom to reflect balance, professionalism, and compassion.
