Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Henriquez.
Hi Patty, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been drawn to the way spaces make people feel. What began as a natural creative instinct eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, along with degrees in graphic design and business administration. Combined with nearly a decade working at a well-established interior design studio in Houston, those experiences shaped the way I approach design today — blending creativity, strategy, and process in a very intentional way.
I founded Patty Henriquez Interiors with the belief that design should be both beautiful and deeply personal. A home shouldn’t just look good — it should reflect the people who live there and support their everyday lives. Over time, my work evolved into a boutique, full-service practice rooted in intentional design, thoughtful details, and a strong focus on function, color psychology, and storytelling. Today, I work with families locally in Houston and virtually across the country, helping them create homes that feel elevated, livable, and authentically theirs.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — and I don’t think it’s meant to be. Like many creative entrepreneurs, I’ve worn every hat in this business: designer, project manager, marketer, and problem solver.
Over time, I’ve learned the importance of delegating and building the right support around my business. I work with professionals for accounting, bookkeeping, and tax strategy so I can stay focused on design, client experience, and the parts of the business where I add the most value. I’m a perfectionist by nature and very hands-on, and I genuinely enjoy being involved in every stage of a project — from the initial point of contact to design, presentation, procurement, and final installation.
Balancing that level of involvement with the demands of running a business — including staying consistent on social media — has been an ongoing challenge. Social media is an important tool for connection and visibility, but it requires time, creativity, and consistency on top of client work. Finding a rhythm that feels aligned rather than forced is something I’m still refining.
That said, being deeply present throughout the process is also one of my greatest strengths. Customer service and client satisfaction are non-negotiable for me, and I believe that care, communication, and attention to detail are what ultimately set both the experience and the final result apart.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Patty Henriquez Interiors is a boutique residential interior design studio specializing in thoughtful, intentional homes designed around real life. I work primarily with families who want a space that feels elevated yet livable — a home that reflects their personality, supports their routines, and grows with them.
I offer both full-service interior design and virtual design services, guiding clients through everything from space planning and finish selections to furnishings, procurement, and installation. My process is structured and collaborative, allowing clients to feel confident and supported at every stage while still leaving room for creativity and personal expression.
What sets my work apart is the balance between beauty and function. I place a strong emphasis on color psychology, scale, and flow, as well as the emotional impact of a space. Design, to me, is not just about aesthetics — it’s about how a home feels to live in every day.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me. Many of my projects come from referrals, which speaks to the experience as much as the end result. Customer service and clear communication are core to my brand, and I approach every project with empathy, honesty, and intention. I want clients to feel heard, understood, and genuinely excited throughout the journey — not overwhelmed.
My brand is rooted in thoughtful design, personal connection, and integrity. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every home, like every family, is different, and my goal is to translate that individuality into spaces that feel timeless, functional, and deeply personal.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the value of trusting yourself and your timing. Stepping away from working for someone else to build my own business felt daunting at times, but it also felt like a natural next step — and once I took the leap, I never doubted that it was the right decision. Every experience leading up to that moment had prepared me for it.
From my education to years working within an established design studio, each phase gave me the clarity and confidence I needed to step into ownership with intention. Without that foundation, I wouldn’t have been ready to build a business grounded in structure, creativity, and strong relationships.
Trusting myself, my process, and the timing has shaped how I define success today — both professionally and personally. It’s guided the way I set boundaries, design with purpose, and build a business that supports my clients and my family. Everything truly happens at the right time, and learning to honor that has been one of the most valuable lessons of all.
