Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee And James Englert.

Hi Aimee and James, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We met each other while participating in our high school theater department. After graduating from high school, we both attended the University of Houston, where I earned a B.S. in Biology and James received a BBA in Business Management. After working briefly as a science teacher and at MD Anderson research dept, I decided to return to my passion for animals. Our first step was to purchase a fully outfitted professional grooming van from Wag-N-Tails Van Conversions. Shortly thereafter, we had an opportunity to appear on a few episodes of Bill and Jen’s “The Little Couple”. We were asked to show off our operation when Bill opened up a pet store here in Houston. After several years of building our business through mobile grooming, we decided to park the van and start our own grooming shop. We fell in love with the wooded landscape of Cypress and decided to purchase a property near the Fairfield neighborhoods, where we could work together and our two sons could attend CFISD schools. Together we opened Doggy Spa Ranch, offering pet grooming and boarding services for our clients. We feel very fortunate to serve the Cypress community and enjoy taking care of their canine friends!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Shortly after we opened Doggy Spa Ranch, the Covid epidemic hit the community. We had to develop creative ways for clients to still drop off their pets safely. Fortunately, our business survived and even thrived, thanks to the support of our clients and the community. As our business has grown over the years, we have found ways to balance our work with our family time to maintain a happy life!

Our philosophy at Doggy Spa Ranch is to make the grooming experience as enjoyable as possible for your pet. We truly believe that pets should look forward to their spa appointment, and owners should feel comfortable dropping them off. Recently we have added boarding services and hope that owners can enjoy their vacations while their pets have fun staying with us!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
We pride ourselves on creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We always put our clients and their pets first, by offering quick grooming appointments and daily text updates for pets boarding with us. Our goal is to make the grooming and boarding experience enjoyable for both owner and pet!
