Daily Inspiration: Meet Eduardo Guevara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Guevara.

Eduardo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is a story of hard work, faith, and persistence. I didn’t start this business with a lot of money or resources — I started with a vision and the desire to build something honest and lasting for my family and my community.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey began with a simple idea: to provide reliable service and treat people with respect in moments when they need help the most. I saw how stressful it is for someone when their car breaks down or they are stuck on the side of the road. I wanted to be the person they could trust in that situation.
At the beginning, I had one truck and I did everything myself — answering calls, driving, loading vehicles, handling paperwork, and managing expenses. There were many long days and nights. I worked in the rain, in the heat, and sometimes without sleep. There were moments when business was slow and moments when everything depended on one single call. But I stayed consistent, because I believed that if I did the job right, people would remember my service.
Building GLOBAL EXPRESS TOW SERVICES was not easy. I had to learn about licensing, insurance, customer service, and operations. I made mistakes, but every mistake taught me something. I learned that reputation is everything in this business. One bad job can hurt you, and one good job can bring you ten more clients. So I focused on doing honest work, being punctual, and charging fair prices.
Over time, word of mouth started to grow. Customers began recommending me to their friends and family. Then repair shops, drivers, and local businesses started trusting me with their vehicles. That is when I realized this was no longer just a job — it was becoming a company.
Today, GLOBAL EXPRESS TOW SERVICES is more than towing. We offer roadside assistance, tire services, and batteries, and we continue expanding step by step. What makes me proud is not only the growth of the business, but the relationships we have built with customers in Houston. People call us not just because we tow cars, but because they feel safe with us.
What really defines my story is resilience. There were times when quitting would have been easier. But every obstacle made me stronger. I learned that success is not something that happens overnight — it is built with discipline, consistency, and respect for your work.
I am proud of how far we have come, but I see this as only the beginning. My goal is to continue growing the company, create jobs, and provide a service that represents professionalism and trust in the city of Houston. This business represents my journey, my sacrifices, and my belief that with effort and integrity, anything is possible.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has definitely not been easy. Starting and growing a business comes with many challenges, especially in an industry like towing and roadside assistance, where every day brings something unexpected.
One of the first difficulties I faced was financial. In the beginning, every dollar mattered. I had to invest in my truck, insurance, permits, and equipment, while still paying personal bills. There were moments when I had to choose between fixing something on the truck or paying another expense. That pressure teaches you discipline very quickly.
Another major challenge was learning the business side of things. I knew how to work hard, but I had to learn how to run a business properly — how to manage time, keep records, deal with taxes, and build relationships with customers and partners. Those lessons didn’t come from a book; they came from experience and sometimes from making mistakes.
Trust was also a challenge at the beginning. When you are new, people don’t know you yet. Some customers are hesitant to trust a new company with their vehicle. I had to prove myself job by job. That meant always being professional, showing up on time, and treating every vehicle as if it were my own.
There were also physical and emotional challenges. Long hours, late-night calls, bad weather, and stressful situations are part of this work. Sometimes you arrive at an accident scene or help someone who is very upset, and you have to stay calm and focused. That takes mental strength and emotional control.
Another difficulty was competition. Houston is a big city with many towing companies. Standing out meant finding my own way of working — focusing on customer service, honesty, and building long-term relationships instead of just quick money.
Despite all these challenges, every difficulty pushed me to grow. Each problem made me stronger and smarter. I learned how to adapt, how to plan better, and how to stay patient when results were slow. The obstacles taught me that success is not about avoiding problems, but about learning how to handle them.
Looking back, those difficult moments are the reason the business is strong today. They forced me to build solid foundations instead of shortcuts. And they taught me to value every customer, every opportunity, and every step forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
If I had to describe my life and professional career in one word, it would be “evolution.” My career did not start where I am today, and my life experiences shaped the way I work and the way I lead my business.
Before building my company, I worked in different jobs that taught me discipline, responsibility, and respect for hard work. Those experiences showed me the value of showing up every day, even when things are difficult. I learned that no matter what role you have, the way you do your job defines who you are.
My professional career truly took shape when I decided to become an entrepreneur. I realized that I wanted more than just a paycheck — I wanted to build something of my own that represented my values. Starting a business forced me to grow personally and professionally at the same time. I had to become more organized, more patient, and more focused.
On a personal level, my life has always been guided by responsibility and purpose. Everything I do is connected to building stability for my family and being an example of what can be achieved through honest work. That motivation has influenced how I treat customers and how I manage my business.
My career has also taught me how important relationships are. Success is not built alone. It is built through trust — with customers, with partners, and with the community. Over time, I learned that being professional does not only mean doing the job well, but also communicating clearly, keeping your word, and respecting people’s time and property.
Today, my life and my career are deeply connected. My business reflects my character: consistency, effort, and respect. Every challenge I faced prepared me for the responsibility of leading a company. I am proud of the road I have taken, not because it was easy, but because it required growth, learning, and commitment.
I believe that my story shows that your background does not limit your future. With discipline, perseverance, and a clear vision, it is possible to transform hard work into a professional career that has meaning and impact.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I truly believe that no success is achieved alone. If I have to give credit to someone, the first person I must mention is my wife. She is a fundamental pillar in my life and in this company. Her support has been constant from the very beginning, even during the most difficult moments. She believed in this business when it was only an idea, and she has been there emotionally, mentally, and practically. Her encouragement, patience, and strength have helped me stay focused when things felt overwhelming.
She has also been involved in the business in many ways, from helping with organization and decisions to being a voice of reason when challenges arise. Without her, this journey would not have been possible in the same way. She is not only my partner in life, but also an essential part of the foundation of this company.
I also give a lot of credit to my customers. They trusted a small company when we were just starting, and that trust means everything. Every customer who recommended us, who left a good review, or who called us back for service helped us grow. Their loyalty and word-of-mouth support built our reputation in Houston. They are the reason the company continues moving forward.
In addition, I give credit to the people who have worked with me and supported the business along the way — whether it has been drivers, mechanics, business partners, or friends who believed in what we were building. Each person contributed in their own way, whether through advice, work, or encouragement.
Most of all, I believe credit also goes to the values that guide us: honesty, responsibility, and service. Those principles shape every decision we make as a business. This company is the result of teamwork, family support, and community trust. I may be the face of the business, but the success belongs to everyone who helped build it.
