Conversations with Manish Wani

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manish Wani.

Hi Manish, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston officially opened its doors on October 2, 2023 (Gandhi Jayanty Day). The concept of bringing such a museum started in 2016 and was inspired by the Gandhi Multimedia Museum in Dehli, India. The effort was led by Co-founders Atul Kothari, Dev Mahajan and Manish Wani. The museum was constructed by TDK construction co, Architect was LDLR, and gallery design, fabrication and installation by Solid Light, Inc

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles included Covid during the design and construction phase and of course fundraising

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
EGMH is the only museum of its kind based on the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in the Americas.

The mission of EGMH is to cultivate universal values of truth, nonviolence, love, peace and service through education and community dialogue and to encourage visitors to embrace these values in their own lives to resolve conflicts nonviolently.

The Museum offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of universal values of truth, nonviolence, peace, love, and service. Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
We were guided day 1 by Smithsonian trained museum consultant Mr. Brian Crockett, The co-founders were Atul Kothari, Dev Mahajan and Manish Wani.
