Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha.
Hi Sasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Belgium, I moved to Houston at a young age. My parents raised my brother and I right here in Sugar Land and they both own their own businesses as well. I watched them work very hard to achieve their dreams and wanted the same for myself. I always knew I wanted to help people and found myself drawn to the artistry and service that comes with dentistry. I graduated from Clements High School then received my undergraduate bachelors in Health Science Studies and chemistry minor from Baylor University. I graduated dental school with a DMD and CPH from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. I have worked in many practice settings, many of which were community health centers. I realized quickly that dentistry is NOT a one-size-fits-all. I pride myself on not only great bedside manner but truly comprehensive dentistry that is custom to each patient. I was taught that the mouth is connected to the person and the person is connected to a community and that’s stuck with me ever since (dental school). After practicing in many different places from Greeley, CO to Ellensburg, WA to San Antonio, I found myself right back in my hometown of Sugar Land. I find so much fulfillment in giving back to the community that raised me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many new graduates, the most challenging part early on was determining exactly what kind of dentist I wanted to become. Dentistry offers so many pathways… specialization/residency, hospital care, corporate settings, private practice, public health, etc, and I was intentional about exploring my options. That period of exploration was invaluable because it allowed me to clarify what truly mattered to me: autonomy in care, deep patient relationships, and an elevated patient experience.
I invested heavily in continuing education during and after dental school, completing over 300 hours of advanced training and successfully passing the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Exam. That commitment to growth sharpened my clinical skills and expanded my perspective on comprehensive care. However, working as an associate sometimes limited my ability to fully implement the type of patient-centered, prevention-focused model I envisioned.
Over time, I refined my practice philosophy: one that integrates systemic health with oral health, prioritizes education, and customizes treatment to each individual. Launching Bloom Dentistry required courage, but by then my vision was clear. Practice ownership wasn’t just a career move; it was the natural next step to deliver care exactly the way I believe it should be delivered. It’s been a lonely and oftentimes scary road to practice ownership, but one that’s filled with fulfillment and satisfaction 🙂
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bloom Dentistry is a boutique dental studio built around empathy, education, and clinical excellence. We provide global or comprehensive general dentistry with a strong focus on prevention, cosmetic enhancements, and long-term oral-systemic health. While we offer the full scope of modern dental services, what truly defines us is how we deliver care.
Our approach is relationship-driven and highly personalized. I believe dentistry should never feel rushed or transactional. Every treatment plan is customized, every patient is educated on their options, and every decision is collaborative between myself and the patient. We emphasize prevention and early intervention, integrating systemic health considerations into oral care because the mouth is not separate from the body. And every person is connected to a community (something I was taught in dental school) and this is an under valued aspect of medicine/dentistry.
Clinically, I am deeply committed to continuing education and advanced training. Having completed over 300 hours of CE and passing the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Exam, I prioritize evidence-based care and evolving techniques. I am also a member of the Pankey Institute, which has shaped my philosophy of comprehensive, intentional dentistry. That dedication to growth ensures our patients receive thoughtful, modern treatment… not outdated routines. I am committed to not only giving lovely experiences and wonderful bedside manner but technically excellent clinical dentistry without the ego.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that Bloom Dentistry feels different. It’s warm but refined. Elevated but welcoming. We’ve created an environment where patients feel heard, never judged, and genuinely cared for. Dentistry can carry anxiety for many people, and transforming that experience into something empowering is incredibly meaningful to me.
What I want readers to know is that Bloom Dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth! it’s about partnership in health. We are building a practice rooted in trust, education, and long-term relationships. My goal is for every patient to leave more informed, more confident, and proud of their smile.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am an avid sourdough baker. I LOVE to experiment with new flavor combinations and the science of baking is really intruiging to me.
I am also a dog mom to a Pomeranian named Chili and a German Shepherd-Pitbull rescue named Skittles.
I used to be on the drumline at Clements High School and continued music as a percussionist even into my time at Baylor University. Finding local artists and seeking out fun concerts is really fun to me.
I’m also a serial hobbyist. I just love to craft, paint, sculpt, decoupage, draw, you name it! My house is filled with my own artwork and projects. I’m currently working on a really large stained glass piece to go in my window where the sun shines in the mornings!
I enjoy playing D&D campaigns with my friends and currently in a campaign where the Dungeon Master is my brother (who is also a dentist and has a practice here in Houston!)
Also I am getting married in April!
