Inspiring Conversations with Jaclyn Satchel of Safe Space Therapeutic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Satchel.

Hi Jaclyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to founding Safe Space Therapeutic wasn’t just a career move; it was born out of a profound personal realization. While I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 14 years, it was my own experience navigating postpartum depression after the birth of my children that changed everything.

Despite being a professional in the field, I saw firsthand how difficult it was to find providers who truly specialized in perinatal mental health. That “gap” in the system became my mission. I knew that if I was struggling to find the right support, other women in our community were too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While every business owner faces hurdles, I have been fortunate that my road has been relatively smooth—largely because I made a conscious choice to prioritize quality over speed.

From the beginning, I was very intentional about not doing this alone. I sought out mentorship from seasoned therapists who had navigated the business side of mental health before me. I didn’t want to just “open a shop”; I wanted to build a sustainable, ethical foundation. By listening to those who came before me, I was able to avoid many of the common pitfalls that new practice owners face.

Having worked in the healthcare industry for 14 years, I’ve seen the negative impact that poor administrative decisions can have—not just on a company’s bottom line, but on the humans we serve. In mental health, the stakes are incredibly high.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Safe Space Therapeutic, we are more than just a mental health group; we are a specialized practice dedicated to the nuances of women’s lives. While many mental health clinics offer general therapy, we have carved out a sanctuary where women and girls—particularly those in the middle of major life transitions—can find experts who truly “get it.”

Our Specializations
We are widely known for our deep expertise in Perinatal Mental Health, supporting women through the complexities of pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the journey into parenthood. However, as our team has grown, we’ve expanded to support the entire lifespan of female identity:

-Adolescent Girls Care: Navigating the unique social, emotional, and developmental pressures facing young women today.

-Perinatal & Maternal Health: Expert support for postpartum depression, anxiety, and the identity shifts of motherhood.

-Neurodivergence & Trauma: Providing affirming care for those navigating ADHD, autism, or past trauma.

-Life Transitions: Practical, evidence-based tools for anxiety and depression during any of life’s “big shifts.”

What Sets Us Apart?
What truly distinguishes us is the “bridge” we build between clinical excellence and authentic connection.

The “Dual Perspective”: I lead this practice not just as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years of experience, but as a mother who has walked the path of postpartum recovery myself. We don’t just provide “tools”; we provide a roadmap from someone who knows the terrain.

Intentional Team Building: I have hand-selected every therapist on our team for their specific expertise. We aren’t a high-volume “therapy mill.” We are a boutique practice where every client, from a teenage girl to a new mother, receives the individual attention they deserve.

If I had to pinpoint what I am most proud of, it’s our reputation for integrity. We have grown slowly and intentionally to ensure that our quality of care never wavers.

To the readers: I want you to know that reaching out for help isn’t a sign that you’re failing—it’s a sign that you’re ready to thrive again. Whether your daughter is struggling to find her footing or you are navigating the heavy weight of a new life stage, Safe Space Therapeutic is here to offer a warm, expert hand.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with my family and friends. They bring me great joy!
