Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Wells.
Hi Rebecca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My love for coaching others began in the pool. I was a year-round competitive swimmer for over 10 years, and the pool was the one place where I felt confident in my skillset. I ended up being the assistant coach of a summer league team when I was still in high school.
Later, my love for coaching others manifested itself in a longtime career in education—from teaching all grades 6-12 to serving as an instructional coach to then being a high school assistant principal and dean of instruction.
I became an avid runner in my 40s, but a stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis took me from the trails to treatment most unexpectedly. Shortly after completing almost a year’s worth of radiation, surgeries, and chemotherapy, I earned my RRCA Level One Running Coach certification and started a local Team in Training running group to raise funds for Blood Cancers United (formerly the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). During this time, I took a detour from education and ended up becoming the senior managing director of a niche software company, leading our overseas development team and a small sales team.
When I returned to education in 2020, I became the girls junior varsity soccer coach at my alma mater, Cy-Fair Senior High School. In this role, I really focused on coaching the player versus just coaching the game. In 2024, I made the decision to enroll in an internationally accredited coaching certification program. My aim was and still is to strengthen my ability to help others live their best lives by empowering them to move past hesitation, gain clarity, and take actionable steps toward the life they truly want. While I loved my role in education, a series of unfortunate budget cuts forced my early exit.
The opportunity to start something new and impactful became clear. I completed over 100 hours of coursework and over 100 hours of coaching to became an Erickson Coaching International Certified Professional Coach and recently passed the exam to earn the International Coaching Federation’s Associate Certified Coach credential.
Along the way, I founded Flow Coaching Services, where my vision is to help create a world where people confidently pursue their goals with clarity, purpose, and momentum, embrace growth as a lifelong journey and in turn, spark a ripple effect positivity that extends beyond themselves. I have been in business for just over a year, and I am proud to say that I did everything myself from filing my LLC paperwork to building my website.
When I am not coaching others, I am hanging out with my awesome family, enjoying an art museum, attending a concert or sporting event, admiring my monsteras, or traveling with my husband.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While nothing in my life has come easy, I am thankful for all of the personal and professional challenges I have encountered. Each time I survive, I get the opportunity to appreciate how resilient, gracious, and grateful I am. Every scar, no matter how visible to others, is a symbol of survival. I can look at the hard times with love in my heart for myself and say, “You got through it.”

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Picking just one favorite childhood memory feels almost impossible, so I will say that my memories from my early years in Richmond, Virginia, are at the top of the list. There was a creek nearby where we collected tadpoles and caught fireflies. We spent hours and hours outside because we did not yet have video games or cell phones. Our neighbors were super neighborly, hosting annual block parties and spilling into each other’s homes. The idea of a “village” was very prevalent and comforting.
