Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Shook.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Matt. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2001, I took a break from swimming at Barton Springs pool in Austin, TX to get a fresh carrot-apple-ginger juice up the street at the Juice Joint. While filling up on juice, I also filled out a part-time job application. My life’s path took root at that moment.
In 2011, I started JuiceLand as the culmination of all I had learned. JuiceLand’s menu would come to be dynamic and diverse, offering a delicious array of cold-pressed bottled juices, plant-based cuisine, smoothie bowls, wellness shots, and cleanses.
Our fun-loving (and growing!) team now fuels dozens of locations throughout Texas plus one in Brooklyn, helping people feel better from the Third Coast to the East Coast.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We are committed to using only organic vegetables. Sticking to this goal has been difficult because we aren’t always able to price match our competitors. Also, property taxes- oh brother!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JuiceLand – what should we know?
JuiceLand is a company that specializes in making people feel good! We work hard to make fresh, healthy food and drinks easily accessible to as many neighborhoods as possible. Our menu is built to be very inclusive with something for everyone! We cater to all types of diets including plant-based, gluten-free, paleo, raw, and Whole30.
We proudly have built a company that focuses on sustainability and supporting the community around us. We stand out from our competitors because we always use fresh, raw cold-pressed juice in our smoothies, organic vegetables in our juices, and we offer a wide selection of award-winning grab-and-go vegan meals.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I surround myself with people I enjoy working with. By relying on my intuition, I have built an incredible team. The success of JuiceLand is largely in part of my amazing juice crew!
