Community Highlights: Meet Keith Walker, Jr of XCIV Society

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Walker, Jr.

Hi Keith, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My path hasn’t been a straight line. I originally started with a strong passion for creativity, music, and storytelling, which eventually evolved into an interest in digital experiences and technology. Over time, I became fascinated with how design can influence the way people interact with products, websites, and applications, and that curiosity naturally led me into UX and product design.

Over the past several years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from helping small businesses improve their digital presence to contributing to larger enterprise and government platforms. Those experiences helped me grow not only as a designer, but also as a problem solver and strategic thinker.

A big part of my journey has been staying adaptable and continuing to learn. I’ve always believed in building things, taking creative risks, and finding ways to merge technology with storytelling and design. Today, I’m continuing to grow professionally while also exploring creative ventures and ideas that reflect both the technical and artistic sides of who I am.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think a lot of growth comes from navigating challenges and learning how to adapt.

One of the biggest struggles along the way has been figuring things out in environments where there wasn’t always a clear blueprint or guaranteed outcome. Early on, I had to learn how to balance creativity with practicality while continuing to build my skills and establish myself professionally. Like many people in creative and tech-related fields, there were moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and times where I had to pivot quickly.

I’ve also learned that growth often happens outside of your comfort zone. Taking on larger projects, working across different industries, and navigating high-pressure situations pushed me to become more disciplined, strategic, and resilient.

At the same time, those experiences helped shape my perspective and work ethic. They taught me the importance of staying adaptable, continuing to learn, and trusting the process even when things don’t immediately go according to plan.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about XCIV Society?
XCIV Society is a creative and technology-driven brand I’m currently building that focuses on design, storytelling, digital experiences, and media. The vision behind it is to create a modern creative house that blends technology, strategy, and artistic expression across multiple industries.

At the core of what I do is UX and product design, including websites, mobile applications, design systems, and digital platforms. I’m also passionate about creative storytelling and exploring how emerging technology can shape the future of media and entertainment.

What sets the brand apart is the balance between creativity and systems thinking. I approach projects not just from a visual perspective, but from a strategic and user-focused one as well. Whether it’s designing a digital product, building a brand identity, or developing creative concepts, the goal is always to create experiences that feel intentional, polished, and impactful.

What I’m most proud of is building something that reflects multiple sides of who I am creatively and professionally. XCIV Society is still evolving, but the long-term vision is to grow it into a platform that brings together design, technology, media, and storytelling in meaningful ways.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was spending time with my family, especially during road trips and traveling together. Those moments always felt exciting because every trip felt like a new experience and an opportunity to create memories together.

I also have a lot of great memories of going to my grandmother’s house after school with my cousins while we waited for our parents to get off work. Looking back, those moments were simple, but they meant a lot. There was a real sense of family, comfort, and togetherness that I’ll always appreciate.

Another big part of my childhood was learning how to play instruments and developing a love for music and creativity at an early age. I think a lot of that creativity eventually carried over into the work I do today.

More than anything, I think I miss the feeling of simply being carefree and enjoying life without overthinking everything. Those experiences helped shape who I am and gave me a strong appreciation for family, creativity, and meaningful experiences.
