Rising Stars: Meet Dionna Simone Jacobs of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dionna Simone Jacobs.

Hi Dionna Simone, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Dionna Simone, and I’m the founder of The Cheesecakery, a Houston-based dessert brand built from passion, resilience, and creativity. My journey started with a love for making people feel good through food and creating experiences that bring comfort, joy, and celebration.

Like many entrepreneurs, my path hasn’t been linear. I’ve balanced motherhood, work, personal growth, and figuring out how to build something meaningful from the ground up. Through all of that, I kept coming back to one thing: creating. Baking became more than just making desserts—it became a way for me to express myself, build confidence, and create something that could grow into a legacy.

The Cheesecakery was born from wanting to offer desserts that feel special, memorable, and full of personality. I wanted to create treats people bring to birthdays, holidays, girls’ nights, and everyday moments when they just want something good. Being based in Houston has also inspired me because this city has so much culture, flavor, hustle, and community.

Today, I’m continuing to grow the brand, expand my offerings, and build a business that represents creativity, ambition, and possibility. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited about where I’m headed.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape me into the woman and business owner I am today. Like many small business owners, I’ve had to navigate balancing finances, self-doubt, time management, and learning how to build something while still managing everyday responsibilities.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that entrepreneurship requires patience. Growth does not always happen overnight, and sometimes you have to pause, reset, and come back stronger. There have been seasons where I had to regroup, refocus, and trust the process even when things were uncertain.

I’ve also learned how important resilience is. Setbacks can either discourage you or teach you, and I chose to learn from them. Every challenge has helped me grow in confidence, discipline, and belief in myself.

Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the lessons that came through the struggles. They helped shape my character and reminded me that success is not always a straight line—it’s about continuing to move forward, stay consistent, and believe in your vision even when the road gets hard.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a creative entrepreneur and the founder of The Cheesecakery, a Houston-based dessert brand focused on making treats that feel both memorable and elevated. I specialize in cheesecakes, dessert concepts, and creating products that bring personality, comfort, and celebration to everyday moments. My goal has always been to make desserts that people remember—not just for the taste, but for the full experience.

I’m also passionate about content creation and storytelling through social media. I enjoy sharing my journey, creative process, lifestyle, and the behind-the-scenes of building a brand. Posting has become a way for me to connect with people, inspire others, and show the real side of entrepreneurship—both the exciting moments and the work it takes behind the scenes.

What I’m most proud of is building something that reflects who I am: creative, resilient, ambitious, and authentic. I’m proud that The Cheesecakery is more than desserts—it’s a growing brand with personality, vision, and room to evolve.

What sets me apart is that I blend creativity with relatability. Whether it’s through my desserts or my online presence, I want people to feel like they’re experiencing something genuine. I’m not just building a business—I’m building a brand and a story people can connect with.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me in several ways. Through The Cheesecakery, I’m open to custom dessert orders, catering opportunities, pop-up events, brand activations, and collaborations with businesses looking to create memorable experiences for their customers or guests. I love partnering on creative ideas that bring people together through food, community, and celebration.

I’m also open to content creation partnerships, promotional collaborations, and working with brands that align with my lifestyle, audience, and personal style. I enjoy creating authentic content that feels engaging, relatable, and true to who I am.

One of the best ways to support me is by following my journey online, sharing my business with others, placing orders, attending events, and engaging with my content. Every share, referral, and word-of-mouth recommendation truly makes a difference for a growing business.

I’m always excited to connect with people who value creativity, community, and building something meaningful together.
