Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsea Thomas.
Hi Kelsea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sending Myself Flowers started as a wellness hobby for myself. I always received fresh flowers and loved arranging them. I then decided I wanted to give other women a space to send themselves flowers as well. So, the idea of our mobile flower bar cart came to mind. We always encourage others to continue the practice of flower arranging even after designing their bouquets with Sending Myself Flowers.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road but I am grateful for every obstacle I’ve had along the way. Struggles along the way was finding a good wholesaler but now I have an amazing one and we have built trust and connection among each other. Also, working through this Texas heat for events was a struggle, it took time to learn which flowers would work best and how to hydrate them properly for outdoor events.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a florist, I specialize in making flower bouquets currently mixed flowers are my favorite and servicing our flower bar cart for events, concerts and more. Creating unique flower bars around themes so guests can have a one of a kind, interactive floral experience. Our themed flower bars definitely set us a part. One, that I am most proud of was a Spring Cart. A freestanding floral installation made of pastel spring flowers surrounded by Spanish moss that sat on the bar cart and guests picked their flowers out of the “grass” to make their bouquets.
