Meet Sydnee Kalberer of Fendiglamspa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydnee Kalberer.

Hi Sydnee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing hair three years ago at 19 years old in Lake Station Indiana. Three years ago is crazy right? In such little time ive gained over a million followers across social media platforms, met celebrities, and had opportunities I would’ve never imagined. My teen years were very troubling so graduating high school, I was very stuck on what I wanted to be in life. So I started trying different things to see what I was good at. My parents helped me get into Esthetician school, but we were still struggling financially. I barely had money to get back and forth from school, nor any extra money to pack lunches at school. So I looked in other directions like doing hair. I started off doing free clients just to practice and see what I was capable of. It didn’t take long before I started recording on my iPhone, and that’s when everything changed. I went from doing hair in my room with my bed and dresser in it, to doing hair in a suite at a salon in 4-5 months. Clients were booking me from Chicago, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indianapolis. I knew I had the ability to go wherever I want and make more money. I did not want to stay in Indiana! I started doing research on where I should take my business to in only 2 months of me working in my first salon. Houston was the first place on my mind. I saved up as much as I could in a matter of 7 months. I had no bills and no responsibilities at my mom’s house. So let me utilize this opportunity that I’ll never be able to get again. From the support of my family and fans, I moved to Texas at 2o years old and built a business so strong. I am now freshly 22 years old, almost two years living in Houston. Ive gained atleast 300,000 more followers across platforms, and done some of my favorite celebrities hair. I now teach girls how to scale their hair business and turn their social media posts into revenue. I trademarked the clothing line “Rich Off Hair” and got my business name “Fendiglamspa” legalized. The progress that Ive made in the time that ive had is amazing. And not only am I improving, but I mentor other stylists on how to sell their services as well. #Richoffhair

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is never a smooth road learning how to do business. Business is HARD. There is no possible way to prepare someone for the amount of work you have to put in. It doesn’t matter what type of business that you do, you have to invest in your research. Ive struggled with motivation the most. Coming from someone who had done so much change in such little time, ive never really had a steady schedule until this year. Slow seasons can make or break a stylist in a lot of different ways. You might have made $5,000 last month, and this month you’re only making $3500. That can make a stylist want to give up, stop posting, stop accommodating to clients etc. That’s why I always encourage stylists to use social media, be organized with profit and funds, and have backup posts for a rainy day. Other struggles is realizing that you cannot please every single person. Finding your ideal client is hard. Trying to fit in every clients category for a hairstylist is not realistic. You won’t be everyone cup of tea and that is okay. Find your niche, and everything will start to fall in line!

We’ve been impressed with Fendiglamspa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fendiglamspa is a name I’ve had when I first started to be a service provider in Esthetics. At that time I was doing facials, massages, waxes, and hair. “Welcome to the Glamspa” is what I would say.It stuck with me and I never changed it even when I stuck with just hair. I specialize in natural locs, braids and twists. I am mostly known for my hairstyle the “Kamikaze twists”. I also have a mentorship Called the “Rich Off Hair Academy” where I have helped stylists across America build their following to over 100,000 across platforms, and hit $10,000 months just showing off their skill. What I want readers to know from my brand is that I take everyone seriously. When you work with me, your time is the investment. The experiences that clients get from is so Rich that they stay loyal to me after years of working with me. I don’t call myself a “celebrity” stylist, I make more memories working with all type of people. I offer luxury services.
