Check Out Micala Harris’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micala Harris.

Hi Micala, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
HR girl by day, content creator by night ✨
Clock out and I’m a Houston-born city explorer with a camera in one hand and coffee in the other ☕️ I love putting small businesses on the map and finding the cutest coffee shops, bars, and restaurants around the city.

I lived in Singapore when I was younger, and that’s where my love for travel really took off—now I’m chasing the dream of turning this into my full-time life as a travel blogger. 🌍

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I went through a really difficult season where I lost my dad and also went through a divorce. That period hit me hard, and I struggled with feeling lost and depressed for a while.

But in the middle of that, I found something that helped me slowly find my way back—creating content. I started recording little moments, taking pictures of everything, and turning my everyday life into something meaningful. It became more than just posting—it became my outlet.

I’ve always been creative since I was young, and content creation gave me a way to express myself again, process what I was going through, and reconnect with who I am. It’s honestly been a big part of my healing and why I’m so passionate about it today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work full-time as an HR coordinator, and in my free time I’m a content creator obsessed with Houston’s best coffee shops, restaurants, and hidden gems. ☕️✨

I’m known for making real, relatable content that makes you want to immediately go check the place out.

What I’m most proud of is staying consistent while working full-time and turning a personal creative outlet into something I’m seriously building.

What makes me different is my mix of Houston roots, Singapore travel days, and a love for finding and sharing the spots people might otherwise miss. 🌍

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I’d love to grow my following while genuinely helping put local businesses on the map. ✨

My long-term dream is to become a full-time travel blogger, exploring the world and sharing it through my lens. And one day, I’d love to buy an RV, live in it for a while, and travel across the U.S. chasing new places, stories, and experiences 🌍🚐
