Today we’d like to introduce you to Raquel Lopez.
Hi Raquel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Amira Aesthetics with a very intentional vision: to create a space where clients feel comfortable, respected, and truly seen—especially those who may not always feel represented in traditional aesthetic settings.
My connection to the medical field actually started early. I grew up watching my mother, who works in healthcare, and her passion for caring for others had a huge influence on me. That environment naturally led me toward the medical field myself. At the same time, I’ve always had a strong artistic side, and aesthetics became the perfect space where I could combine both—science and artistry.
When I launched Amira Aesthetics, I wanted it to be more than just an aesthetics spa. I focused on creating a hijabi-friendly, culturally sensitive environment where privacy and comfort are prioritized. Building trust with my clients has always been at the center of what I do—taking the time to educate them, focusing on natural, balanced results, and making sure they feel confident in every step of the process.
What started as a passion has grown into something incredibly meaningful. Today, Amira Aesthetics is a space centered around empowerment, confidence, and personalized care. Every step of the journey has been driven by a commitment to authenticity, high standards, and making sure every client leaves feeling like the best version of themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most businesses, there were a lot of learning curves, especially in the early stages. Building trust as a newer brand in the aesthetics space takes time, and I had to be very intentional about how I show up for my clients.
One of the biggest challenges was creating a space that truly aligned with my values while also navigating the business side of things—marketing, operations, and growth. There’s also the responsibility that comes with working in aesthetics, where results matter and client trust is everything. That pressure pushed me to hold myself to a very high standard from the beginning.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Amira Aesthetics?
Amira Aesthetics is a medical aesthetics space focused on natural, refined results and a highly personalized client experience. We offer a range of treatments including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and advanced skin treatments, all designed to enhance—not change—our clients’ features. Every service is approached with a focus on balance, subtlety, and long-term skin health.
What truly sets us apart is the intention behind the experience. From the moment a client walks in, the focus is on comfort, privacy, and trust. We are proudly a hijabi-friendly and culturally sensitive space, which means we’ve been very thoughtful about creating an environment where women can feel fully at ease while receiving treatments. That level of consideration is something our clients deeply value and often don’t find elsewhere.
We’re especially known for our natural-looking results. I take a very conservative, detail-oriented approach—combining my medical background with an artistic eye—to ensure that treatments like Botox, fillers, and skin rejuvenation enhance the client’s features in a way that still feels like them. Education is also a big part of what we do. I want clients to understand their options, feel confident in their decisions, and never feel pressured into treatments that aren’t right for them.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built. A large part of our growth has come from word-of-mouth and loyal clients who not only return but refer their friends and family. That kind of organic growth is a reflection of the experience we provide and the relationships we’ve built.
At the end of the day, Amira Aesthetics is about more than just treatments—it’s about helping clients feel confident, respected, and like the best version of themselves in a space that truly understands their needs.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think “luck” has played a role, but not in the way people sometimes think. I’ve been fortunate to have early influences—like growing up around healthcare through my mother—that helped shape my path. I’ve also been lucky to have incredibly supportive and loyal clients who believed in my work and helped grow the business through word-of-mouth.
At the same time, I don’t think where I am today is purely luck. A lot of it comes down to consistency, intention, and being very clear about my values from the beginning. There were moments where things didn’t go as planned or felt uncertain, but those situations usually pushed me to refine my approach and get better at what I do.
If anything, I see luck as preparation meeting opportunity. When opportunities came—whether it was new clients, growth, or expanding my services—I made sure I was ready for them. And even the “bad luck” moments ended up being lessons that helped shape the business into what it is today.
