Conversations with Breanna Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Garcia.

Hi Breanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello! I began my journey with Charmed Fantasia Holdings LLC in January of this year, inspired by my love for reading and my connection to the bookstagram community. What started as sharing book reviews quickly grew into something more when I realized I wanted to create products that readers could physically connect with, especially within the romantasy space that I’m so passionate about.
I began designing glass beaded bookmarks and building my brand from the ground up, turning a creative passion into something tangible. While I don’t have a storefront, I’ve been actively participating in markets across Houston, connecting with readers, creatives, and fellow small business owners in person.
Building this brand as a woman entrepreneur has been both empowering and challenging, but it’s pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. The support from the book community, especially fellow bookstagrammers and romantasy readers, has meant everything to me.
Charmed Fantasia is still growing, but this is only the beginning. I’m excited to continue expanding, creating, and building a space where readers can feel a little more magic in the things they love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting everything on my own, from setting up my LLC to learning about investing and taking risks has been a major learning experience. There’s been a lot of trial and error along the way.
Since I primarily sell at markets, it can feel unpredictable at times. Some days are great, and others are more challenging, which really tests your confidence and belief in what you’re building. One of the biggest challenges has been staying consistent and continuing to show up, even on the days when things don’t go as planned.
At the same time, every obstacle has taught me something valuable. I’ve learned resilience, discipline, and how to trust the process. I know that building something meaningful takes time, and I’m committed to pushing through the challenges because this vision depends on my discipline and consistency to keep going.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create book-inspired accessories with a focus on blending beauty and function, especially within the fantasy and romantasy space. I’m most known for my charmed bookmarks, which I handcraft using glass beads to give them a jewelry-like feel. I’ve always loved the detail and shine of jewelry, so I wanted to bring that same elegance into something readers can use every day.
My charmed bookmarks have become my signature piece, along with my sword bookmarks and letter openers. While I offer a variety of bookish goods, I also enjoy creating accessories that can be appreciated by both physical book lovers and e-reader users.
What I’m most proud of is being able to turn a personal idea into something that others genuinely connect with. When people visit my booth, they’re not just shopping; they’re stepping into a space that reflects a fantasy aesthetic and a love for storytelling.
What sets me apart is the attention to detail and the intention behind each piece. I focus on creating items that feel unique, a little magical, and different from traditional bookmarks, something that feels more like a personal accessory than just a placeholder in a book.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I’ve really appreciated the influence that the bookstagram community has had on my business. Connecting with other creators and small business owners in that space has been one of the most valuable parts of my journey so far.
For me, networking has worked best by being genuine and showing up consistently, both online and in person. Whether it’s attending local markets or engaging with other creators, I focus on building real relationships instead of just transactions. A lot of what I’ve learned has come from those connections, even if they didn’t start as formal mentorships.
My biggest advice is to not be afraid to put yourself out there. Start conversations, ask questions, and support others as much as you want to be supported. When you lead with authenticity, the right people will naturally gravitate toward you.
I also believe your brand should be an extension of who you are. For me, that means bringing a sense of creativity, detail, and a little bit of magic into everything I do, whether it’s my products or the way I connect with others. That’s ultimately what makes people remember you.
