Exploring Life & Business with Nazifa Mim of Fave the Day

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nazifa Mim.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Almost 2 years ago, I was doom-scrolling on TikTok as I did most days, when I saw this really cool concept introduced in New York – a live perfume bar service at events. People walk up to the bar, try out different fragrances, and create their own little blend to take home with them. I thought to myself, “How cool!” and was surprised to find that this service did not exist in ALL OF TEXAS. I seized the opportunity and took it upon myself to bring this service to the Lone Star State itself. With that, the making of Fave the Day began. I did the R&D, created an online presence, and got a marketing team ready to promote the heck out of the service within our locality. Next thing you know, I had an outpour of interest from event planners to venues to clients themselves wanting to learn more about the service and booking us for their events. We’ve been in business for over a year now and have been met with only happy returning customers and a growing referral network. I’m really excited as we expand and offer other unconventional, unique party experiences that are in the works!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There was definitely some trial and error in the process of establishing best practices for making the perfume blends on-site at events. Every event that we’ve serviced has helped us in improving and refining our methodology in terms of how we establish protocols ahead of events, take orders on-site, and prepare the perfume blends.

I also had my first baby right after launching Fave the Day so striking that balance between being a present mom while also growing the business has been the biggest challenge for me. I could not do any of this without the support of my husband, mom and the rest of my family. The saying is true – it takes a village! And I’m forever grateful for mine.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Fave the Day was created to revolutionize the party favor experience and is the FIRST mobile perfume bar in Texas, offering an extensive array of top-quality, oil-based perfumes imported from overseas. Allowing guests to experiment and customize their own blend, each scent is bottled on-site for a truly momentous and personal touch. With its chic setup and interactive experience, our perfume bar elevates any event into a sensory celebration. We’ve also expanded our services to offer private perfume-making workshops. We bring the workshop to you and guide you through the entire life cycle of creating a custom blend from scratch! It’s been an awesome service that smaller groups have been able to enjoy for more intimate milestones and celebrations.

We’re so grateful for the love we’ve received thus far and can’t wait to bring our live embroidery bar and a vintage telephone audio guestbook to our suite of services as well. Stay tuned!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is the intersection of impact and intention. We’re not just handing out party favors, we’re creating moments people carry with them, literally. It’s when a guest walks up to our bar, spends time exploring these rich, oil-based fragrances, shares their stories, likes, and dislikes with us, and leaves with something that actually means something to them. Returning clients, referring clients, etc., are all indicators of success.

But I’ll be honest, some of my proudest moments have had nothing to do with bookings. It’s the new mom guilt I pushed through, the late nights researching scent profiles while my baby slept, the moment I realized I had built something from nothing in a state where nothing as it existed before, prompting so many other small businesses to follow suit.
