Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie Vest.
Hi Lexie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been drawn to the beauty industry. Growing up, I was constantly playing with makeup and hair, you know the kid cutting her own hair and my dolls’ hair. I was always asking my sisters if I could do their hair, and I always helped my mom style hers while she did her makeup. Looking back, I think that’s where it all started.
I went to hair school at 18 and instantly knew this was what I was meant to do. Since then, I’ve fallen even more in love with not only the creative side of hairstyling, but also the connections and community that come with it. There’s something so rewarding about helping people see their beauty and feel their absolute best.
I’ve been at Lavish Salon for the past six years and have truly loved every moment. The salon is filled with so much light, love, and laughter, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of it. Throughout my journey there, I discovered a passion for creating beautiful blondes and educating guests on how to maintain healthy hair so they can feel confident long after they leave my chair.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey definitely wasn’t always smooth. One of the biggest challenges early on was learning how to decode what clients want while also being able to communicate realistic expectations. It took time to find the confidence to say no when something wasn’t in the best interest of the hair, even when it wasn’t what someone initially had in mind.
Another challenge was finding a salon home that truly felt right. With so many different personalities in the industry, it can take time to find a space where you feel supported, encouraged, and able to grow. I’ve learned how important it is to be surrounded by people who uplift you and genuinely want to see you succeed.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love all things hair, but I’m especially passionate about hair coloring. Creating bright, dimensional blondes that grow out seamlessly is one of my favorite things to do. Whether it’s highlights, balayage, or an all-over blonde transformation, I truly love it all.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and the experience I create for my guests. I want every person in my chair to not only achieve their dream hair, but to also feel completely pampered, comfortable, and cared for throughout the process.
I’m most proud of my dedication to constantly learning and evolving within the industry. I’m always open to new techniques, education, and ways to improve my craft so I can continue giving my clients the best possible experience and results.

What’s most important to me is making people feel seen, heard, and beautiful. Hair is so much more than just the service itself, it’s about the experience and the connection that comes with it. I love creating a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and uplifted. Seeing someone leave my chair feeling more confident and happy than when they walked in is the most rewarding part of what I do.
