Meet Leandra Wigglesworth of Curl Therapy HTX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leandra Wigglesworth.

Hi Leandra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Curl Therapy HTX started from a genuine love for natural hair care and helping women feel confident in their curls. What began as simply doing hair and sharing knowledge with others slowly grew into something much deeper: a space centered around healthy hair, self-care, and community.

Over time, I realized that many women weren’t just looking for a hairstyle, they were looking for guidance, encouragement, and someone who truly understood their hair journey. That inspired me to continue growing my skills, invest into education, and create an experience where clients feel seen, cared for, and empowered when they sit in my chair.

Since starting, God has continued to open doors for me to serve in ways beyond the salon; from educating clients on healthy hair routines to hosting community giveback events and creating safe spaces for women and young mothers. Today, Curl Therapy HTX is more than a hairstyling business to me; it’s a reflection of purpose, care, and the vision God placed on my heart to serve people through beauty, healing, and connection.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. I actually started Curl Therapy HTX while I was four months pregnant, so I was navigating the beginning stages of entrepreneurship while also preparing for motherhood at the same time. A lot of my startup costs were covered through donations, support from others, and investing my own income back into the business.

As a first-time business owner and single mom, there have been many moments where I’ve had to learn as I go; balancing raising my child, building a brand, managing clients, finances, and staying consistent even during challenging seasons. There were times when things felt overwhelming, but those experiences strengthened my faith, discipline, and passion for what I do.

Every obstacle has taught me something, and I believe those challenges helped shape Curl Therapy HTX into a business rooted in resilience, care, and purpose.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Curl Therapy HTX is a natural hair care brand focused on healthy hair, education, and creating a safe, welcoming experience for every person who sits in my chair. I specialize in natural hair care services that prioritize the health and integrity of the hair while also helping clients feel confident and cared for throughout their journey.

What sets Curl Therapy HTX apart is the intention behind the experience. I never want appointments to feel rushed or transactional because I truly value building trust with my clients, educating them on how to care for their hair outside of the salon, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable, seen, and encouraged. My goal is for every client to leave not only loving their hair, but also feeling refreshed and poured into.

One thing I’m especially proud of is creating The Committed Curl Friend Program, which was designed to encourage consistency and commitment when it comes to healthy hair care. The program allows clients to stay on track with their hair goals while building a deeper sense of community and accountability throughout their journey.

Beyond styling, Curl Therapy HTX is also rooted in community and purpose. I’ve been able to host giveback initiatives and events that support and uplift others, including young mothers, which is something very close to my heart. I’m most proud that the brand has become more than just hair; it represents care, healing, self-confidence, and genuine connection.

I want readers to know that Curl Therapy HTX is a space where hair & soul care collide. Whether someone is beginning their natural hair journey or simply looking for a stylist who truly cares, my goal is to provide an experience that feels personal, intentional, and empowering from start to finish.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can support Curl Therapy HTX by booking appointments, sharing the brand with others, engaging with our content online, and supporting our community initiatives. Referrals, prayers, and genuine support truly mean a lot as a small business owner.

I’m also open to collaborations that align with the heart of the brand, including community events, beauty and wellness partnerships, and outreach opportunities centered around education, empowerment, and service. People can stay connected through Curl Therapy HTX’s social media platforms to book services, collaborate, or keep up with upcoming projects and events.
