Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Batista.
Hi Diana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a proud New Yorker, born to two Dominican immigrants who came to this country with a suitcase full of dreams. They taught me the value of hard work, which is why I started working at 14 and never stopped pushing myself. I went on to earn my MBA, built a corporate career, and raised a family — all while carrying the work ethic my parents instilled in me.
A few years ago, my husband and I moved to Texas to create a better work‑life balance and a better future for our children. That transition gave me the space to finally pursue a dream I had put on hold for years.
Today, I’m the founder of The Perfume Bar Experience, a luxury interactive fragrance bar that creates custom perfumes at events. We’re known for offering a fast, elegant, and deeply personalized experience that becomes a signature moment for guests.
What sets us apart is the intention behind the brand — it’s built on creativity, connection, and care. And beyond the service itself, my mission is to empower women, especially those who think they can’t chase their dreams. I want them to see that they can build something beautiful, even while raising a family, even while juggling life.
I’m proud of my roots, proud of my journey, and grateful for the family who has supported every sacrifice along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For many years, I built my career in the corporate world while raising my children and running a household. Like a lot of moms, I learned to juggle everything — schedules, responsibilities, and the invisible load that comes with being the center of a family. I always had dreams of starting my own business, but at the time, my kids were my priority, so I kept putting those dreams on hold.
Now that they’re older, I’ve reached a point where I can finally give myself permission to pursue something that’s mine. Stepping into entrepreneurship hasn’t been easy — balancing a home, children, and a new business requires a different kind of resilience — but it has also been incredibly rewarding.
What motivates me is knowing that I’m not just building a business; I’m showing my family what it looks like to follow a dream with discipline and courage. This chapter is about choosing myself without leaving them behind. It’s about creating something that reflects who I am, while still honoring the role I play as a mother.
Starting my own business has allowed me to grow, to lead, and to redefine what’s possible for me and for my family.
As you know, we’re big fans of Perfume Bar Experience. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is The Perfume Bar Experience, a luxury interactive fragrance bar that brings custom scent‑blending to events. We create personalized perfumes on the spot, giving guests a unique, sensory moment that feels elegant, memorable, and completely tailored to them. We’re known for our curated scent library, our seamless blending process, and the elevated atmosphere we bring to weddings, corporate events, brand activations, and private celebrations.
What truly sets us apart is the intention behind the experience. This isn’t just a station — it’s a moment of connection, creativity, and personalization. Every guest walks away with something that reflects who they are, and that emotional element is what makes our brand special.
Brand‑wise, I’m most proud of the trust and recognition we’ve built. One opportunity opened the door to many more, and now clients seek us out because they know we deliver beauty, professionalism, and a signature experience that enhances their event.
But beyond the service itself, my mission is deeply personal. As a former corporate employee and a mom who put her dreams on hold for years, I want my brand to empower women — especially those who think they can’t. I want them to see that it’s possible to build something of your own, even while raising a family, even while juggling a household, even when the timing isn’t perfect.
I want women to know that their dreams don’t disappear just because life gets busy. They wait. And when you’re ready, you can rise into them with strength, courage, and support. My business is not only about creating beautiful fragrances — it’s about showing women what’s possible.
How do you think about happiness?
Being home with my family. It’s as simple as that.
