Today we’d like to introduce you to Simran Mann.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My professional background is rooted in both marketing and finance. I spent eight years in corporate marketing in Scottsdale, a chapter of my career that I truly loved and one that shaped the strategic foundation I bring to real estate today. However, as a native Houstonian, there was always a strong pull to return home and be closer to family. In 2014, my husband became the reason that finally brought me back to Houston.
Ironically, it was our own home-buying experience that ultimately changed the trajectory of my career. The process was far from seamless, and it quickly became clear to me how overwhelming and underserved clients could feel during such a major life decision. That experience sparked the realization that I could combine my background in marketing and finance with my meticulous attention to detail to create a more elevated, strategic, and client-centered real estate experience.
In my first year in real estate, I closed over $1 million in sales through a strong grassroots marketing approach and a relationship-driven business model. Since then, my transaction volume has nearly doubled year over year, guided by one core principle: earning my clients’ trust by delivering meaningful results and recognizing that my success is ultimately defined by theirs.
Even with significant growth, I have remained deeply committed to maintaining a highly personalized experience for every client. In 2021, I founded Gill Fine Properties, a boutique brokerage built around that very philosophy — cultivating a small, exceptional team that values personal touch, thoughtful service, and genuine client relationships above all else.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, it definitely has not been a completely smooth road — but I truly believe the challenges are what shape both your business and your character. Transitioning from a structured corporate environment into real estate was a major leap. In corporate marketing, there is often a clear roadmap and defined systems in place. Real estate, especially in the beginning, requires you to build everything from the ground up — your reputation, your network, your client base, and ultimately your brand.
Real estate is also an incredibly competitive industry. Clients can encounter a new agent at virtually every turn, which means building a lasting business requires far more than simply completing transactions. It demands consistency, trust, visibility, and an unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional experience every single time. Early on, I quickly realized that success in this industry requires an immense amount of sacrifice — long hours, constant accessibility, missed personal time, and the willingness to continue showing up even during uncertain markets or difficult seasons. Building something meaningful and sustainable does not happen overnight, especially in a relationship-driven business where trust must continually be earned.
One of the biggest challenges was learning how to balance growth while still preserving the level of service and attention to detail that I wanted every client to experience. As the business grew year over year, I became very intentional about scaling thoughtfully rather than quickly. For me, it was never about becoming the biggest brokerage — it was about creating a boutique experience where clients felt genuinely supported, informed, and advocated for throughout every stage of the process.
Another challenge was navigating an industry that is constantly evolving. Markets shift, client expectations change, and you quickly learn that adaptability, communication, and consistency are everything. There were certainly moments that required resilience, especially while building a business and raising a family simultaneously, but those experiences ultimately strengthened both my perspective and leadership style.
Looking back, every challenge reinforced the importance of staying authentic, leading with integrity, and remaining deeply client-focused. Those principles have been the foundation of both my personal brand and Gill Fine Properties from day one.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Gill Fine Properties is a boutique real estate brokerage built on the idea that luxury is not defined solely by price point — it is defined by the level of service, strategy, communication, and care a client receives throughout the process. From the beginning, my vision was to create a highly personalized real estate experience that feels elevated, seamless, and relationship-driven, while still delivering exceptional results.
Our brokerage specializes in residential real estate throughout Houston, with a strong focus on luxury homes, new construction, relocations, and thoughtfully curated leasing opportunities. What truly sets us apart is the combination of strategic marketing expertise and a concierge-level client experience. My background in corporate marketing and finance has allowed me to approach real estate differently — with an emphasis on branding, presentation, negotiation strategy, and market positioning that goes far beyond simply listing a property.
At Gill Fine Properties, we are intentionally boutique. We have been very thoughtful about growing a small team of agents who share the same values, work ethic, and client-first mentality. For us, success has never been about volume alone — it has always been about building long-term relationships and becoming a trusted resource for our clients through every stage of life and real estate.
I think what I am most proud of brand-wise is that our business has grown almost entirely through relationships, referrals, and repeat clients. That trust means everything to me because it reflects the experience people have when working with us. In an industry that can often feel transactional, we have worked very hard to create a brand that feels personal, polished, approachable, and deeply service-oriented.
I also want readers to know that we genuinely care about the details. Whether we are helping a first-time homebuyer, marketing a luxury property, advising an investor, or assisting a family relocating to Houston, our approach remains the same — thoughtful guidance, honest communication, strong advocacy, and a commitment to making what can often feel like a stressful process feel refined and manageable instead.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One of the biggest lessons I have learned throughout my career is that relationships are truly everything. Whether in business or in life, the people you surround yourself with have a tremendous impact on your growth, perspective, and opportunities. When it comes to finding a mentor, I think it is important to look beyond someone’s level of success and pay close attention to how they operate — their integrity, consistency, leadership style, and the way they treat people behind the scenes. The right mentor is someone whose values align with your own, not just someone with an impressive title or platform.
I also believe mentorship does not always have to look traditional. Some of the most valuable lessons I have learned came from observing people I admired, asking thoughtful questions, staying curious, and being willing to continuously learn. Early in my career, I made a conscious effort to stay close to people who inspired me professionally and challenged me to think bigger.
Networking has also played a significant role in the growth of both my career and Gill Fine Properties, but I have always approached it from a relationship-first mindset rather than a transactional one. I think people can immediately sense authenticity, and the strongest connections are built organically over time. For me, what has worked best is focusing on genuine relationships, consistently showing up, following through, and always leading with value rather than expecting an immediate return.
I would also encourage people not to underestimate the power of personal branding and reputation. Especially in industries like real estate, your network often grows through trust and word of mouth. Every interaction matters, and over time, consistency speaks louder than anything else.
Most importantly, I think people should remember that building meaningful relationships and a strong network takes time. There is no shortcut for trust, credibility, or genuine connection — those things are earned through consistency, authenticity, and how you make people feel over the long term.
