Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Bahramian.
Ali, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my creative journey at 19 in Tehran, Iran, working as a professional makeup artist in the film industry. Creativity had always been a big part of who I was, and beyond makeup, I was deeply drawn to photography and costume design. I loved the idea of storytelling through visual art and bringing ideas to life.
I spent 12 years working in the industry, learning not only the artistic side of the work but also the importance of detail, emotion, and connecting with people. Eventually, I left Iran and began a completely new chapter of my life as an immigrant. Starting over came with challenges and a lot of unknowns. Life took me through different jobs and experiences, but photography was always there. It was something I naturally returned to—a creative outlet and something I genuinely loved.
For over 25 years, I continued capturing moments, learning along the way, and growing with every image I created. Over time, I realized photography had become much more than a hobby. I decided it was time to take that passion and build something meaningful from it.
Today, I run my own photography business, where I have the opportunity to help people and brands tell their stories through imagery. I love helping entrepreneurs, families, and individuals feel seen and captured in an authentic way. Looking back, it’s been an unexpected journey with many turns, but every experience helped shape where I am today, and I’m grateful for all of it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was starting over after leaving Iran and rebuilding my life and career as an immigrant. There were moments of uncertainty where I had to take on different kinds of work while trying to stay connected to my creative path.
Another challenge was turning photography from something I loved into a business. It required learning a whole new side of the industry—marketing, client communication, and consistency—while still trying to protect the creative passion behind it.
I also had moments of self-doubt, like many creatives do, questioning whether I was ready or if I should take the next step. But over time, those challenges helped me grow and made me more focused and intentional with my work today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Lusso Lens, is a photography brand focused on creating clean, timeless, and story-driven imagery. I work across a range of areas, including portraits, senior photography, branding, fashion, modeling, clothing, and accessories. At the core of everything I do is the same goal—helping people and brands feel confident and seen through intentional, high-quality visuals.
What sets my work apart is the combination of storytelling and experience. My background in the film industry and visual arts shaped the way I approach photography. I don’t just take pictures, I build scenes, guide emotion, and focus on details that bring a story to life. I also prioritize making clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, because the best images come from real expression, not forced poses.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the consistency I’ve built in creating a recognizable style that feels both polished and natural. Lusso Lens is not just about images; it’s about creating a full experience where clients feel confident, understood, and elevated.
For readers, I want them to know that my work is about more than just photography services. It’s about capturing identity—whether that’s a personal milestone, a brand vision, or a creative fashion concept, and turning it into something lasting and meaningful.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m a photographer specializing in helping people, brands, and creatives tell their stories through intentional imagery. My work spans branding, portraits, family sessions, events, and, more recently, fashion, modeling, clothing, and accessories photography. No matter the project, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel authentic, meaningful, and visually strong.
I don’t see myself as someone who takes photos; I produce them. I approach every session with intention, creativity, and direction, ensuring each image contributes to a larger story rather than being a standalone shot.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Being invited into someone’s personal story or brand vision is something I don’t take lightly. It’s always rewarding to see clients react to their images and feel truly seen and represented in a way that reflects their identity.
What sets my work apart is the combination of storytelling and connection. I take the time to understand who I’m working with and what they want to express, whether it’s an entrepreneur building a brand, a family preserving a moment in time, or a creative fashion concept coming to life. I approach every project with a balance of direction, detail, and emotion, so the final result feels both elevated and real.
