Check Out Surface Grey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Surface Grey.

Hi Surface, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up singing in church choir and freestyling as a kid. Was in a musical group post high school, then I became a ghostwriter at a now defunct record label. After that and especially how I was treated at the label, I sought out to make my own music and became big in my own rights as an artist.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely has not been a smooth road at all. A lot of bumps and bruises on the way up but that’s what it takes to get to the pinnacle sometimes.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most known for being great in multiple facets. Rapping, singing, producing, writing, etc. it’s how I got my artist name SURFACE GREY from the term “grey area”, which means being involved with everything. I’m most proud of recently selling out Warehouse Live Midtown. The original location was the same place I attended my first concert seeing Bas there for his, “Too High To Riot,” album. I appreciated that moment cause it felt very full circle grinding and working hard for that moment. I think my hard work ethic and relentless grind separates me from others for sure.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’m kind of in the middle on risk taking. You do have to take risks to receive big gains sometimes but also have to have the discernment of smart risks to take versus very bad ones that will have you wondering why you ever made that stupid decision. Wisdom when judging these two is IMPERATIVE!
