Hi Vernica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Vernica “V. Marie” Pitcher. I am a proud native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, making an entrepreneurial imprint in Houston, Texas for over 15- years. I am a devoted mother to my son, Jaydin, who helps me to see the World through the amazing lens of Autism, and advocate for the awareness and acceptance needs of ASD. I am a driven entrepreneur, with a laser focus on empowering communities that lack profitable resources and education. I moved to Houston in 2004 to pursue my degree in Digital Communications. After graduating, I developed myself as a Graphic Designer and started my branding agency, Panther Ink, in 2007.
After 17 years of evolving, I have expanded my business into brand development and acquisitions, coaching, authoring, public speaking, and podcasting. I have been featured on several platforms and publications, like CBS Business News, Canvas Rebel Magazine, Houston’s local Amazing 102.5, The Amanda Sapp Morning Show, and 953 Jamz. I am also a proud scholar of Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women: Black In Business Cohort 6, as well as a SCORE mentor and youth mentor with TWST For Girls and the LEADHer Foundation.
My mission is to help growing business owners master their message and stand boldly in their stories through purpose-driven brand development. I can be discovered on most social media platforms, where I provide resources and opportunities to clients looking to enhance their brand and build confidence in what it represents.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been a bumpy road as a black, female entrepreneur. The struggles come from every direction where there is a learning curve, including in my personal development to become the person it takes to arrive at the levels of success I prayed for. Becoming more reliable, more professional, more insightful. Learning how to lead better, construct meaningful meetings, and what comes with growing a team, as well as a tax bracket. Getting more regulated emotionally and depend heavier in logic when it comes to business operations. I had to learn the importance of mind, body, and spirit as an ecosystem that directly affects my levels of success.

I am the Founder/CEO of Panther Ink, where I serve as a branding consultant offering done-for-you development packages, system automation, and AI integration. I also coach growing entrepreneurs in my Brand Builders Academy coaching program, where I introduce a 12-month process to profitability, industry authority, and awareness. I am known for my tailored approach to each client, as well as my authentic personality. I give a nurturing yet stern approach to helping clients break bad habits and build identity and commitment to their brands. I am most proud of my success rate in increasing confidence and profit growth for business owners who were once unsure of what direction to take in their industry. I am equally proud of the trust factor my companies have possessed throughout my 2 decades of service, which my clients consistently acknowledge.
