Meet Brittany L. Goshay of Birmingham, AL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany L. Goshay.

Hi Brittany L. , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am from Union Springs, Alabama. I have been writing since the 3rd grade. While growing up, I spent Saturdays and summers at the local library. I credit my mother for my love for reading, which lead to securing a library page job during my undergraduate studies.

I am graduate of Alabama State University and Troy University. I have taught English at Trenholm State Community College, Troy University, Lawson State Community College, and Miles College.

I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). I live in Alabama with my family. No Mercy is my first novel, a coming-of-age story about family, friendship, and survival.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The writing process is not easy. It was filled with researching, writing, rewriting, editing, and more rewrites.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a writer from Sweet Home Alabama. My debut novel will be published by Wordeee. I am most proud of finishing my novel that I had been working on since 2014. I have a passion for reading, creative writing, studying history.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have learned to trust the process. Believe in myself if no one else does.
