Hi Angel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Stone Fantasies actually started as an idea back in 2004, long before phone cases and iPhones became a thing. At the time, I had a vision for blinging out flip phones and creating accessories that felt personal, stylish, and fun. But life had other plans. I had just welcomed my twin sons, Jacob and Caleb, in 2003, so I put my creative dreams on hold to focus on motherhood.
As the years went by, life kept “lifeing,” but the dream never left me. Once my twins graduated from Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas, I found myself entering a new chapter as an empty nester. With more time, more clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose, I decided it was finally time to pour into myself and bring Stone Fantasies to life. What started as a creative idea years ago has grown into a brand that reflects my love for glam, individuality, and statement-making pieces.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles was simply finding the extra time to pour into my dream while raising my children and working. Being a mother came first, so there were many moments when Stone Fantasies had to wait.
Financially, it was also challenging. There were seasons where I was barely making ends meet, so investing in a business felt almost impossible at times. But even through the stress, the responsibilities, and the setbacks, the vision never left me. Those struggles taught me patience, resilience, and how to keep believing in myself even when the timing wasn’t perfect.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My professional background is in healthcare. I am a state-licensed and nationally certified pharmacy technician, and I currently work for Health Care Service Corporation, formerly Cigna Medicare, as a First Line Supervisor. I have been with the company for seven years and counting, and that journey has taught me so much about leadership, patience, service, and perseverance.
One of the things I am most proud of is how I became a pharmacy technician. At the time, I could not afford to attend pharmacy technician school, but I refused to let that stop me. I purchased a $30 pharmacy technician textbook from Amazon, studied on my own, and used my position as a pharmacy cashier to gain hands-on experience. Through determination and faith, I passed my licensing and certification exam on the first try.
What sets me apart is my drive. I have never been the type of person to wait for perfect circumstances. If I want something, I find a way to learn it, work for it, and grow into it. That same determination carries over into everything I do, including Stone Fantasies. I take pride in creating with purpose, leading with passion, and showing that you can build something beautiful even if you have to start small.
