Hi Jerry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path has never been a straight line, and I think that’s what makes it meaningful. I’m originally from the east coast and after moving to Houston in 2011, I dedicated my career to law enforcement, where I’ve spent more than a decade serving my community. That profession taught me discipline, resilience, and how to lead under pressure, but deep down I always felt there was more I was meant to create.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Along the way, I also built a reputation as a local jeweler, helping people celebrate some of the biggest milestones in their lives through custom jewelry. Whether it was an engagement, an anniversary, or a personal achievement, I loved being part of those meaningful moments. But even with that success, I still felt called to build something that reflected who I was at my core.
That calling led me back to the kitchen.
Growing up in a Haitian household, food was never just food. It was how we celebrated, connected, comforted one another, and preserved our culture. Some of my favorite memories were made around the dinner table, watching recipes and traditions passed down with love. Over time, cooking became more than a passion it became my creative outlet and a way to express myself.
What started as preparing meals for family and friends, taking night cooking classes, slowly turned into private dinners, special celebrations, and clients who wanted more than just great food. They wanted an experience. That’s when I knew it was time to create Héritage Kuisine.
Today, Héritage is a luxury private dining and hospitality company inspired by my Haitian heritage and elevated through French culinary techniques and other cultural influences, Every menu is thoughtfully designed, every detail is intentional, and every event is an opportunity to create memories that people will carry with them long after the last course is served.
When I look back, I realize each chapter of my life has prepared me for this one. Law enforcement taught me service, jewelry taught me craftsmanship, and the kitchen gave me purpose. My goal isn’t simply to build a successful business it’s to build a legacy rooted in excellence, culture, and genuine hospitality, one unforgettable experience at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I don’t think the most meaningful journeys ever are.
For years, I balanced a demanding career in law enforcement while pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams. Building businesses isn’t something that happens overnight, especially when you’re working long hours and still trying to be present for your family. There were plenty of late nights, early mornings, and moments where I questioned whether I was spreading myself too thin.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve also experienced setbacks and failures. Not every idea worked the way I hoped, and there were times I invested time, money, and energy into things that didn’t produce the results I expected. Those moments were discouraging, but they taught me valuable lessons about patience, resilience, and staying committed to the bigger picture.
One of the biggest challenges has been believing in myself enough to take the leap. Transitioning from a stable career into building a luxury hospitality brand comes with uncertainty. You’re constantly asking yourself if people will understand your vision or if you’re making the right decision. I’ve learned that growth requires faith, consistency, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
Through every challenge, I’ve kept reminding myself why I started. I want to create experiences that bring people together, honor my Haitian heritage, and build something my family can be proud of for generations. Every obstacle has made me a better leader, a better chef, and a better entrepreneur. Looking back, I wouldn’t change the difficult moments because they shaped the person and the business I’m building today.

What I’m most proud of is that Héritage is being built with purpose. I want Héritage Kuisine to become synonymous with unforgettable hospitality, elevated experiences, and a legacy that celebrates culture, craftsmanship, and genuine connection.
What are your plans for the future?
The future of Héritage is incredibly exciting because we’re building something that’s much bigger than me as an individual chef. My vision is to grow Héritage into a nationally recognized luxury hospitality brand known for creating extraordinary dining experiences and setting a new standard for personalized service.
In the coming years, I plan to expand our offerings by partnering with talented chefs from diverse cultural backgrounds, allowing us to curate immersive culinary experiences that celebrate cuisines from around the world while maintaining the elevated level of hospitality our clients expect. I also envision growing into destination events, luxury retreats, corporate experiences, and exclusive collaborations with luxury brands and venues.
One of my biggest goals is to establish a culinary studio and event space where we can host chef’s tables, wine pairings, cooking classes, private tastings, and intimate gatherings that bring people together through food and culture. Long term, I’d also love to mentor aspiring chefs and entrepreneurs, helping them build successful careers while encouraging them to stay true to their own heritage and creativity.
More than anything, I want Héritage to become a brand that people trust for life’s most meaningful celebrations. Whether we’re serving an intimate dinner for two or a once-in-a-lifetime wedding, I want every client to leave feeling that they experienced something truly unforgettable. At the end of the day, my goal isn’t just to build a successful company it’s to build a legacy that my family can be proud of and that continues bringing people together for generations to come.
