Hi Purvi and Sal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Sal and I are both children of immigrant families who came to America in pursuit of the American Dream. Growing up, we watched our parents build lives and opportunities through hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. Those experiences shaped our values and ultimately influenced the path we chose as business owners.
For me, entrepreneurship wasn’t something I discovered later in life, it was something I grew up living every day. When I was in elementary school, my parents purchased their first small business. Because they couldn’t afford childcare and had very little support system, my childhood looked a little different than most. Rather than coming home from school to relax or spend afternoons with friends, I went to work with my parents. As I got older, I helped in whatever ways I could, learning firsthand what it takes to run a business long before I ever imagined owning one myself.
I watched my parents work long hours, often balancing multiple jobs while operating a small business with no staff because they couldn’t afford additional help. I saw the challenges, the uncertainty, and the sacrifices required to keep a business afloat while supporting a family. At the same time, I witnessed the pride that came from building something of your own and creating opportunities through determination and grit.
Sal grew up with many of those same values. His family also emphasized hard work, responsibility, and resilience, and those lessons became the foundation for his approach to both life and business. Although our experiences were unique, we shared a deep appreciation for the sacrifices our parents made and the opportunities they created for us.
As our careers progressed, we realized that many of the lessons we learned growing up; putting people first, staying committed during difficult times, and never being afraid of hard work, were the same qualities required to build and lead a successful business. Those principles ultimately led us to business ownership.
Today, we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to build something meaningful together. Looking back, we recognize that the examples our parents set for us shaped not only our work ethic, but also our leadership style, our commitment to serving others, and our belief that success is built through consistency, resilience, and taking care of the people around you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but we believe that some of the most valuable lessons come from navigating challenges.
Although we had prior experience as business owners before entering the beauty and wellness industry, this was our first venture in this space. We came into it with a strong foundation in entrepreneurship, hospitality, and customer service, but quickly learned that the beauty industry has its own unique dynamics, regulations, and operational complexities. There was much more to learn than we initially anticipated, and like any new venture, there were unexpected obstacles and steep learning curves along the way.
Another challenge was balancing entrepreneurship with our careers, family responsibilities, and other business commitments. Building and growing a business requires a significant investment of time, energy, and patience. There were certainly seasons when the pace felt overwhelming, and we had to learn how to adapt, prioritize, and remain focused on the long-term vision.
What made that journey easier, and far more rewarding, were the incredible people who became part of it. We have been fortunate to work alongside dedicated team members who care deeply about their clients and take pride in what they do. We have also been blessed with loyal clients who have trusted us, supported us, and grown with us over the years. Many of those relationships have become one of the most meaningful parts of our business journey.
Looking back, the challenges helped us grow as leaders and reinforced the importance of resilience, humility, and continuous learning. They reminded us that success is rarely about having all the answers from the beginning; it’s about surrounding yourself with great people, staying committed to your values, and continuing to move forward one step at a time.
Today, we are grateful not only for the businesses we have built, but also for the relationships that have been built along the way. Those experiences taught us that success isn’t about avoiding setbacks, it’s about learning from them, staying committed to your values, and continuing to grow through every stage of the journey.
As business owners, we’ve learned that no matter how much experience you have, there will always be new challenges, unexpected situations, and opportunities to learn. Entering a new industry reinforced that for us. We had to remain humble, open-minded, and willing to adapt while staying focused on our long-term goals.
Equally important is our commitment to people. We believe that lasting success is built through relationships, whether that’s with our team members, clients, business partners, or the communities we serve. Treating people with respect, genuinely caring about their experience, and consistently doing the right thing has helped guide many of the decisions we’ve made over the years.
