Community Highlights: Meet Ben & Lesley Fontenot of Dwell Home Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben & Lesley Fontenot.

Ben & Lesley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Dwell Home Designs was born from two passions we’ve always shared—real estate and design.

As Realtors, investors, and home flippers, we’ve walked through hundreds of homes and noticed the same thing happening over and over. Beautiful homes were sitting on the market because buyers couldn’t see their potential. We realized there was a real need for thoughtful staging and intentional design that helps homes stand out.

At the same time, we’ve always loved transforming spaces. Whether it was choosing finishes, rearranging furniture, or helping friends and family redesign their homes, creating beautiful, functional spaces has always come naturally to us.

So we combined those passions and started Dwell Home Designs.

Today, we help homeowners, Realtors, and investors maximize the value of their properties through home staging, interior design, short-term rental furnishing, and remodel planning. As a husband-and-wife team, we believe every home has a story, and our goal is to help it make a lasting first impression.

We’re passionate about creating spaces people love—and helping our clients achieve the best possible results.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Like most small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges—from building brand awareness and earning trust to balancing family life while growing the business. One of our biggest hurdles was helping people see that home staging isn’t just an expense—it’s an investment that can help homes sell faster and for more money. Those challenges have made us better, strengthened our business, and reinforced why we love what we do!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We believe great design should do more than look beautiful—it should create value. We specialize in home staging, interior design, remodel planning, and short-term rental furnishing throughout Galveston County and the surrounding areas.

What sets us apart is our unique combination of design expertise and real estate experience. As Realtors, investors, and home flippers, we understand what buyers are looking for and how thoughtful design can help a home stand out, sell faster, and maximize its value.

We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built and the results we’ve helped our clients achieve. We want people to know that we’re more than just designers—we’re partners who genuinely care about our clients and treat every home as if it were our own. Whether we’re preparing a home for the market or creating a space for someone to enjoy every day, our goal is to make the process enjoyable, stress-free, and deliver a result that exceeds expectations.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Don’t believe in luck
