Life & Work with Rehanna Washington of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rehanna Washington.

Rehanna , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my social media journey when I was 12 years old. At first, my Instagram was just a spam page where I posted lip gloss content, but it quickly gained attention. Before I knew it, I was gaining thousands of followers overnight.

By the time I was 14, I had started working with small brands as an influencer. At 15, that evolved into modeling in person for different brands and businesses. When I turned 16, I began hosting and coordinating my own events while also walking in fashion shows. Being involved in those experiences made me realize that I wanted to create opportunities of my own instead of just participating in someone else’s vision.

At 17, I began planning my very first fashion show, and at 18, I officially brought that vision to life. Now, a year later, I’m still producing events, preparing for my third fashion show, and continuing to grow my brand. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how something that started as a simple social media page turned into a passion for modeling, event production, and creating spaces that bring people together. I am overjoyed and overly best. That’s why I call myself the “Youngest In Charge”, I been in this industry since 12.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As my platform has grown, I’ve realized that the more influence you have, the more you have to command respect and protect your peace. There have been days where I’ve had no motivation, struggled with depression, and seriously considered walking away from everything I’ve built.

Over the past year, I’ve experienced a lot personally. I’ve had people I genuinely thought loved and supported me take advantage of me. I left an abusive relationship, and I’ve watched people I considered friends speak negatively about my business instead of supporting it. That hurts, especially when it’s coming from the people you expected to be the proudest of you.

But if there’s one thing about me, it’s that I don’t let other people’s opinions define who I am. I’ve had plenty of obstacles and criticism thrown my way, but I know my worth, and I won’t let anyone convince me I’m someone I’m not. I’ve learned that as a woman in business, you have to protect your vision, stay focused, and not let your emotions keep you from chasing what you know you’re capable of. Every challenge has made me stronger, and it’s only motivated me to keep building.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an event producer, fashion show coordinator, model, actor, and content creator. I specialize in creating experiences that bring people together while giving models, photographers, designers, artists, and small businesses a platform to grow and network. My goal has always been bigger than just hosting an event—I want people to leave with new connections, opportunities, and confidence in themselves.

One of the things I’m most proud of is producing my own fashion shows at such a young age. Seeing an idea that started in my head come to life, and watching people walk away saying they gained exposure, met new people, or landed new opportunities because of something I created, is the most rewarding feeling.

I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely care about building a community, not just a brand. I don’t see other creatives as competition—I see them as people who deserve opportunities. I’m always thinking about how I can create spaces where everyone can shine, whether they’re an experienced model or someone attending their very first event. I also don’t let my age define what I’m capable of. I’ve learned to trust my vision, take risks, and continue growing with every event I produce. At the end of the day, I want my name to be associated with creating opportunities, bringing people together, and leaving a lasting impact on my community.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
There have definitely been moments where simply walking into the right room has led to life-changing opportunities. I’ve met incredible people, built meaningful connections, and opened doors that I never could have planned on my own.

That said, I wouldn’t call it luck. I truly believe God has a plan for my life. I believe every opportunity, every setback, and every lesson has happened for a reason. There isn’t a single thing I’ve been through that I would go back and say I regret. Every lesson—good or bad—has shaped me into the woman I am today. Looking back, I can see that what felt like coincidence at the time was really preparation for the next chapter of my journey.

I’ve learned that when you stay consistent, remain faithful, and keep showing up, the right opportunities will find you in God’s timing—not just by luck.
