Hi Tatiana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We are Álvaro (“Cheche”) and Taty, an entrepreneurial couple from Cali, Colombia, united by our passion for exceptional food and unforgettable experiences.

Taty is a psychologist and loan closer with a deep love for international cuisine. She specializes in preparing traditional seafood cazuela, authentic Spanish paellas, and beautifully crafted cheese and charcuterie boards. Her attention to detail and passion for hospitality ensure every dish is both delicious and memorable.

Cheche is an industrial engineer with a background in project management and a lifelong passion for barbecue. He specializes in South American-style BBQ, including Brazilian churrasco and Argentinian asado, combining technical precision with authentic flavors to create outstanding dining experiences.

Together, we founded San Fermin Paellas and Churrascos Catering to share our culture, passion for food, and commitment to quality. Every event we cater is an opportunity to bring people together with fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and exceptional service. Our goal is simple: to create memorable moments through great food and genuine hospitality.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped us grow. Starting a catering business from the ground up meant wearing many hats—cooking, marketing, managing finances, finding clients, and coordinating events—all while building our reputation from scratch.

Like many small businesses, we faced challenges such as attracting our first customers, managing cash flow, and adapting to unexpected changes in the market. There were also long hours and weekends dedicated to making every event a success. At times, balancing the demands of the business with our personal lives was difficult.

Those experiences taught us resilience, adaptability, and the importance of delivering exceptional service every single time. Today, many of our clients come through referrals and repeat business, which reminds us that the hard work and commitment to quality have been worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At San Fermin Paellas and Churrascos Catering, we specialize in creating authentic Spanish and South American dining experiences for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and special celebrations. Our signature dishes include traditional Paellas, Brazilian churrasco, Argentinian-style barbecue, and beautifully crafted charcuterie boards, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a passion for authentic flavors.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just cater food—we create an experience. As a husband-and-wife team, we’re personally involved in every event, from planning the menu to preparing and serving the food. We take pride in providing personalized service and making every client feel like family.

We’re especially proud of building our business from the ground up through hard work, dedication, and word-of-mouth referrals. Seeing clients come back to us for future events or recommend us to their friends and family is our greatest accomplishment. It tells us that we’ve earned their trust by consistently delivering exceptional food, outstanding service, and memorable experiences.

Our goal is simple: to bring people together through authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and a commitment to excellence that guests will remember long after the event is over.

How do you define success?
For us, success is about much more than financial growth. It’s about creating memorable experiences for our clients, seeing people enjoy our food, and knowing we played a part in making their special occasions unforgettable.

We also measure success by the relationships we build. When clients return for future events or recommend us to their family and friends, that’s the greatest compliment we can receive. It shows that we’ve earned their trust through quality, consistency, and exceptional service.

As entrepreneurs, success also means continuing to grow, learning from every experience, and staying true to our values of hard work, authenticity, and hospitality. If we’re making people happy through great food while building a business we’re proud of, we consider that success.
