Daily Inspiration: Meet Jezabel Silverio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jezabel Silverio.

Hi Jezabel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I come from a small town Dominican family and grew up in Raleigh NC where i went to college and completed nail school as well. I was a medical assistant for 2 years before i started doing nails in my parents garage. I bought all my supplies myself and started practicing on my sisters, my mom and friends. I was working full time as a medical assistant and then doing nails right after just about every day. I eventually got my manicurist licensed in NC and then immediately moved to Katy Texas just 20 min out of Houston. I still worked as a medical assistant for about 8 months as i worked out of my 1yr olds room trying to build up clientele. Once i transferred my license I worked at a small owned nail salon for 3 weeks which ended up being a very unwelcoming situation. As bad as it was, it gave me the courage to open up my first suite. I was very happy working at my suite for 2 full years. I gained so much clientele and even had people driving 1-3 hours to come to me every month. After that i moved to my current space where i rent out rooms to other Beauty pros. I’ve hired nail techs to my team and now run a full nail salon + salon suites business

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My biggest challenges have been balancing being a parent + running a business. Me and my fiancé don’t have a village or really anyone to help us with our daughter so it’s fully on us.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in everything Gel, GelX, hard gel, dual form extensions, and pedicures. What sets me apart from other techs in my area is the Russian manicure technique that i include with every service. I also can perform a full manicure + designs in 1.5 hours which is very hard to find.

What makes you happy?
Growing my business and taking risk. It’s a very rewarding feeling to accomplish the ideas and goals i set for myself
