Meet Ariel of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel.

Hi Ariel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I loved doing hair as a young girl. My mom bought me a mannequin head in 7th grade where I practiced and I became a hairstylist all through high school and college. As I got older, I focused more on my career in information technology and didn’t have time to do hair full-time anymore. During the pandemic (2020) I started working from home and decided to going back into the hair business but in a different route. Hair extensions. I Invested my money and started trying out different vendors. Came up with a logo, a business plan and the rest was history.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth. A year after I decided to go into the hair extensions business, I lost my dad. That’s when I lost my motivation for a while. When I sold out of my inventory that I had at the time, I just never restocked. For a few years. But during that time, people who had shopped with me before kept asking me “when are you going to start back selling hair?” And that was honestly, all the motivation I needed. Giving the people what they want. And I relaunched my hair business 4/20/2025 completely new business model, new logo and just bigger and better all around. Same vendor though because I don’t play about quality!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Apart from my hair business, I am professional IT Engineer. I specialize in hardware, networking and software. That was always my path and plan. My most proud accomplishments are of course my career, my hair business is my passion and my escape from corporate America so I’m proud of how it has developed, also becoming a girl mom was my biggest motivator to be a great role model and example. What sets me apart is the fact that I stay in my own lane, I don’t compete with others that have similar businesses, and I want everyone to win.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to keep creating, and you guys just have to stay tuned for what’s next!
